Therefore Go…
October 2014
Hi there
Thank you so much for your prayers, especially for Kai and his
sleep. Despite battling a horrid cold, he has started sleeping a bit
better and is not waking nearly as frequently as before. What a
difference it makes being able to have enough rest.
This last month we were also blessed to have two good friends from
Lima, Luis and Ariana, come to stay with us for a week. It was
wonderful being able to show them around Andahuaylillas and
the surrounding countryside. Over the next few months we have
various friends and family coming to stay with us, which is going to
be very special. Jaime and I desire for our home to be a place of
rest and blessing for those who come to stay, so we are going to
have lots of practice
We also recently received the exciting news that it would seem
that we are expecting a little girl. From what we could see on the
ultrasound last week, it looks like Kai is going to have a little sister
arriving in early April. Jaime and I are so thankful that all is well and
that our baby is healthy.
Otherwise all is well here in Andahuaylillas. Most of my day is taken
up looking after Kai. I have however been able to develop quite a
lovely friendship with the young lady who looks after our
neighbour’s son. The children generally spend the afternoon
playing together, so we spend a lot of time talking and sharing. I
am really trusting that God can use it as an opportunity for me to
share His love with her.
Thank you for being a part of the work that we are doing here in
Cusco. It is our greatest desire that God can make His love and
power known through us in this little part of the world.
Much love, Kim
This last month Jaime has made various trips to visit Primitivo
and the blueberries he has been farming for us. Our aim this
month was to provide him with good soil to optimise the
growth of the plants. Below are some photos of our blueberries
and of Jaime delivering the soil at Primitivo’s home. The photo
bottom right is of Jaime, Primitivo and Ronal.
The Renova Blueberry Project.
Over the last few weeks Jaime and Ronal have been busy
with the construction of the greenhouse in Marcaconga. It has
been really exciting because we have been able to contract
some of the local community members to help build it and in
so doing provide them with employment, albeit short-term at
the moment. It has also been a good opportunity for Jaime to
start getting to know the members of the community better.
Below are some pictures of Jaime working together with the
locals to make the adobe (mud) bricks that will be used for
the walls of the greenhouse. In total over 1500 bricks were
made. This week they will be laying the foundations of the
greenhouse and then the building will begin.
The Renova Blueberry Project.
Please continue to pray with us for the construction of the greenhouse. At the moment there
are often large thunder storms accompanied by heavy rain and even hail. Trust with us that the
building will advance despite the storms and that the people we have contracted will honour
their contracts with us. Please also continue to trust with us that we will be able to form solid
and lasting relationships with people in the community.
Jaime, Kai and I have all suffered horrible colds this last month and at the moment Kai has an
ear infection. Please trust with us for the health of our family and that the colds and flu so
common at this time of year will not affect us.
Please keep Rosnely (the lady who looks after our neighbour’s son) and Roxana (the lady who
helps me to clean the house) in your prayers. Both are passing through difficult family situations.
Please trust with me that God will give me the opportunity to share His love and truth with them.
If you have any comments or questions, please feel free to write to me any time. It would be really
lovely to hear from you. My email address is [email protected].
Thank you again for your incredible
faithfulness in partnering with us in this
journey. Jaime and I thank God for each
and every one of you. We pray that it will
be both a blessing and encouragement
to you to know that your prayers and
faithfulness make a big difference in this
part of the world!
Please keep us in your prayers….
