RECAP OF THE WEEK
A very lively, entertaining and informative Speaker was
invited to our Lunch Meeting of 23rd August 2017 at the Ritz-
Carlton Hotel; none other than PDG Leslie Salehuddin.
With an interesting topic called MEMBERSHIP ITS EVERY
ROTARIANS CONCERN, PDG Leslies presence drew guest
Rotarians from RC Gombak, RC Petaling Jaya, RC Langkawi and
even RC Soutbank Melbourne, Australia. 11 other invited guests
together with 27 Rotarians made up for a packed house at this
lunch meeting.

PDG Leslie was all about impactful,
humorous yet statistics- filled delivery as
he delved deep into RCKLDs membership
stats and analysed trends and patterns for
us. He also gave very useful advice,
including (some) controversial and modern
suggestions as to how to attract new
members and retain current ones, as he
believes, quite rightly so, that membership
is the bloodline of every Rotary Club.

Besides the talk, we also celebrated the
birthday of our Clubs beloved Dato
Mustapha Ma, now popularly known among
younger Rotarians as the
Laughing Therapist. May God bless Dato
Mus with great health and continued
longevity so that he may continue to support
and grace our Club with his wisdom and
laughter.
Rtn Sandeep also gave a
report on the successful
ILTS event that just
happened and Club
Admin Director Dato
Prakash announced that
the Club would be
launching new Club F1
shirts for members to buy.
He brought samples for
members to see which
one they preferred.
On a bright Saturday morning, 19th August 2017, our Club
organized an Interact Leadership Training Seminary, or more
popularly known by its abbreviation ILTS, at Wesley Methodist
School.

The ILTS drew participation of 69 interactors from 8
schools, namely SMK Seri Bintang Selatan, SMK Seri Bintang
Utara, St. Johns Institution, Taylors International School KL,
SMK Maxwell, SMK Convent Bukit Nanas, SMK Aminuddin
Baki KL and of course Wesley Methodist School KL.
The ILTS split Interactors into various workshops which
were ran by the corresponding resource Rotarian from our
Club. Our own President Ajmal and PP Hardeep was in
charge of the President and Vice President workshop, PP
Francis Chan ran the Secretary Workshop, Hon Treasurer
Thomas Varughese ran the Treasurer Workshop, PP Jeff
Keow ran the Community Service Workshop, and Club
Service Workshop was led by Rtn Rajendra and Rtn Mahen,
while Rtn Surinder organized the I.U. Workshop.

Besides the ILTS, this was also an occasion where a new Interact
Coordinating Committee (ICC) board was elected for term 2017 /

All in all, it was a great ILTS no thanks to the hardwork
and dedication put in by our wonderful resource Rotarians
but not forgetting the enthusiasm, passion and leadership
potential shown by all Interactors who took part fervently in
our workshops and training sessions.
