If your name is listed and you already know you do not feel led to serve if elected, please call the office and request that your name be removed. This list will be corrected from informa on received and printed again over the next two weeks as well as in ballot form on that Sunday morning. Please make this a prayerful process as we prepare to call out and set aside 5 qualified and willing men to serve on the delibera ve body of deacons.

Meet & Greet

From the Jr. High Minister Search Commi ee

The Jr. High Minister Search Commi ee is excited to unanimously recommend “JJ” (Joseph) Yount to our MZBC family to serve as Jr. High Student Minister. JJ will be gradua ng from Southwestern Bap st Theological Seminary next month, May 2015, with a Master of Arts in Chris an Educa on with a Student Ministry Focus. He has a passion for teaching scripture to students as well as connec ng with and equipping parents to disciple students. His gi s and ex-perience complement the exis ng strengths of our student ministry in such a way that we are confident God will use him to further grow and strengthen the MZBC Student ministry. JJ has a clear passion for student ministry, good communica on skills and an obvious maturity. He served on a short term assignment with the Interna onal Mission Board (IMB) in Cote d’lvoire, Africa a er gradua ng from Mississippi College. JJ met Jesse during this assignment with the IMB and “dated” her virtually for a few years (she served 5 years with the IMB in Africa), once he returned to the states and began his student ministry in Bolton, Mississippi. JJ and Jes-se married in 2010 and moved to Southwestern Bap st Theological Seminary, where Jesse worked for a large pharma-ceu cal company and they had their two children. JJ served in a local church as their student worship and media min-ister while at SWBTS. He is a gi ed musician, media technician and photographer, but we were most impressed with his sills and reputa on as an excellent Bible teacher and minister to students and their families. We have a peace as a commi ee that God has led us to call JJ and his family to our church family at Mount Zion. We look forward to their coming and JJ serving as our Jr. High Student Minister and to our ministry to them as our newest church family.
