10 HEALTHY NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS FOR KIDS The following tips are from the American Academy of Pediatrics

(AAP). 1. I will clean up my toys, and keep my room in good order. 2. I will brush my teeth twice a day, and wash my hands be fore eating and after the bathroom. 3. I won’t tease dogs, even friendly ones – and keep my hands and face away from their mouths. 4. I will drink more milk and water, and limit soda and fruity drinks. 5. I will apply sunscreen before going outdoors. 6. I will find a sport or activity that I like, and do it at least three times a week. 7. I will always wear a helmet when bicycling or boarding. 8. I will wear my seat belt every time I get in the car. 9. I’ll be nice to others, and friendly to kids who need friends – like someone shy or new to school. 10. I’ll never give out personal information or pictures of my self to strangers or over the internet.

CELL PHONES/ELECTRONIC DEVICES POLICY

Students may possess electronic devices and cell phones on school property with the following guidelines.

1. Cell phones and electronic devices shall be turned off or rendered in-capable of activation during the regular school day unless preauthor-ized by the building administrator.

2. Digital images or taking inappropriate photographs of any kind are prohibited to ensure the privacy of others.

3. Cell phones and electronic devices must be stored in a student’s locker during the school day.

Students who violate district or school rules and regulations may be subject to discipline, including, but not limited to, detention and/or suspension. If a violation does occur the device will be confiscated. Student and parent will be visited with before phone would be re-turned.

VSE KINDERGARTEN SCREENING THURSDAY, MARCH 4, 2021

Kindergarten Screening will be held at VSE on Thursday, March 4, 2021 from 8:00-3:30. Kindergarten screening is for students who will be 5 by September 1, 2021. Please call the VSE office at 757-6285 to schedule an appoint-ment.

Please bring the following documents for kindergarten screening:

☺Certified birth certificate.

☺Current immunization records.

☺Social Security card

☺Proof of residency

☺Any custody papers concerning your child.

☺If your child has a medical condition that needs special attention, please bring that information with you.

☺One guest per student.


IMPORTANT REMINDER FOR PARENTS/GUARDIANS:

It is important that we keep the student database current and up-to-date. If you move, change a phone number, change your place of employment, please update your Family Access account. The information in Family Access is used by the school to contact you for any reason. It is especially important to have this information current in times of emergency, ie: when we are trying to let you know your child is ill or injured.

You can update your contact information through your Family Ac-cess account.

Payment may be handed directly to your student’s bus driver; by you or your student.

As always, you can come to the Transportation Building located at 812 E. Redwood BLVD. We are open from 6:30 a.m.—4:00 p.m.
