Stop by from 3-5:30 pm NE corner of parking lot in front of football stadium and look for a tent with College of Health & Science (COHS) banner for free food. Students, alumni, parents, faculty of COHS are welcome. Our tailgate party needs your attendance. Please RSVP to me by the 18th so we can get a rough count for food. ([email protected]). See our Facebook page and find out who will be coming. ECU Campus Changes.. The Hallie Brown Ford Fine Arts Center is progressing. Hopefully it will be open in Spring ‘09. There was a groundbreaking for a Centennial Fountain on the Plaza in front of the fine arts building in August. Main St. is now closed north of Horace Mann for the construction of a pedestrian plaza. There will be an Arts District to the west on Main St. ECU is now planning a convention center in the Arts District that will be next to the Hallie Brown Ford building rather than being connected to the new student union as was earlier planned. Architect’s sketch is below. ECU will also be replacing stadium bleachers and the baseball stands. The stadium got a new paint job this summer. We plan on building soccer bleachers also. So the sports facilities will be looking good very soon.
