PASTOR’S NOTE
“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good. His love is eternal.”
Psalm 136:1
How grateful I am that our Lord has allowed our church to be here for 152 years. Let us give thanks to our Lord for His mercy and grace to our church family. Let us give thanks to our Lord for His faithfulness to us for a century and a half. Let us give thanks to our Lord for His eternal love.
On Sunday, August 2, we will cele-brate the Lord’s Supper. We will use sealed cups and wafers for commun-ion. You may pick them up in the lobby before you are seated. Come and re-member what our Lord did for us on the cross.
We will resume our Wednesday even-ing Bible study via livestream. We will continue in our study of Psalm 119, the celebration of God’s Word. We will start at 6:30. You may watch on our Facebook page: Zhbc Buford.
On Sunday, August 16, we will cele-brate our 152
nd Anniversary. The
Zion Hill Baptist Church was founded on August 20, 1868 about a mile from our current location. God has brought us through wars, recessions, depres-sions, pandemics, and conflict for the past century and a half. We praise God for the men and women who came before us who were faithful to our Lord and His kingdom. Let us come together and celebrate 152 years as a church family. Please give a $152 offering to our building fund in honor of our anniversary.
We will have a Gideon Speaker on Sunday, August 30, at 11:00 a.m. Our speaker is Mr. Mark Hoelper of the Central Gwinnett Gideon Camp. The Gideons International distributes Bibles and NT’s all over the world in hotels, prisons, hospitals, doctor’s of-fices, and some schools. We will take up an offering for the Gideons. Please give so that they can continue to dis-tribute God’s Word here and around the world.
Thank you for your faithfulness during this COVID-19 pandemic. Please con-tinue to pray for our church family. And in case you didn’t know—I love being your pastor!
Danny
