This study discussed about the students’ mastery on adverb clause at

English Education Department of Tarbiyah and Teachers Training. The

formulation of the research problems were: 1). How is the mastery level of the

fifth semester students on adverb clause at English Education Department of

Tarbiyah and Teachers Training Faculty academic year 2017/2018? 2) What is the

most difficult type of the fifth semester students on adverb clause at English

Education Department of Tarbiyah and Teachers Training Faculty academic year

2017/2018? This research aims at: 1) Gaining and describe the mastery level of

the fifth semester students on adverb clause at English Education Departments of

Tarbiyah and Teachers Training Faculty. 2) Finding the most difficult type of the

fifth semester students on adverb clause at English Education Department of

Tarbiyah and Teachers Training Faculty.

The research design in this study was descriptive quantitative method. The

subjects of this study were 136 students or all of students in the fifth semester

students at English Education Department of Tarbiyah and Teachers Training

Faculty. The research instruments were written test and documentation. The data

analysis was inductive.

The research findings were 1) The level of mastery of the fifth semester

students on adverb clause at English Education Department of Tarbiyah and

Teachers Training Faculty academic year 2017/2018 was in fair category with the

mean score 66.80. The most difficult type of the fifth semester students on adverb

clause at English Education Department of Tarbiyah and Teachers Training

Faculty was adverb clause of purpose type with 6.82% wrong answer.

HIDAYAH, 2018. Penguasaan Mahasiswa dalam Adverb Clause di Jurusan

Tadris Bahasa Inggris Pada Fakultas Tarbiyah Dan Keguruan

Tahun Akademik 2017/2018. Tesis, Jurusan Tadris Bahasa

Inggris, Fakultas Tarbiyah dan Keguruan. Pembimbing: (I)

Drs. Saadillah M.Pd. (II) Nani Hizriani M.A.

Kata Kunci: Mahasiswa, Penguasaan, dan Adverb Clause

Penelitian ini membicarakan tentang Penguasaan mahasiswa dalam

adverb clause di jurusan Tadris Bahasa Inggris pada Fakultas Tarbiyah dan

Keguruan tahun akademik 2017/2018. Rumusan masalah penelitian adalah: 1)

Bagaimana level penguasaan mahasiswa mahasiswa semester lima dalam adverb

clause di jurusan Tadris Bahasa Inggris pada Fakultas Tarbiyah dan Keguruan

tahun akademik 2017/2018? 2) Apa kesulitan yang paling besar pada mahasiswa

semester lima dalam adverb clause di jurusan Tadris Bahasa Inggris pada Fakultas

Tarbiyah dan Keguruan tahun akademik 2017/2018? Penelitian ini bertujuan

untuk: 1) Mendapatkan dan menjelaskan Bagaimana level penguasaan mahasiswa

semester lima dalam adverb clause di jurusan Tadris Bahasa Inggris pada fakultas

Tarbiyah dan Keguruan tahun akademik 2017/2018. 2) Menemukan bagian

tersulit pada mahasiswa semester lima dalam adverb clause di jurusan Tadris

Bahasa Inggris pada Fakultas Tarbiyah dan Keguruan tahun akademic 2017/2018.

Metode penelitian: 1) Rancangan penelitian dalam penelitian ini adalah

penelitian dengan metode deskriptif kuantitatif, 2) Subyek penelitian adalah 136

mahasiswa atau semua mahasiaswa semester lima di jurusan Tadris Bahasa

Inggris pada fakultas Tarbiyah dan Keguruan tahun akademik 2017/2018. 3)

Instrumen penelitian adalah test tertulis, dan dokumentasi, 4) analisis data adalah

induktif

Penemuan penelitian: Penguasaan mahasiswa semester lima dalam

adverb clause di jurusan Tadris Bahasa Inggris pada fakultas Tarbiyah dan

Keguruan tahun akademik 2017/2018 dikategorikan cukup dengan nilai rata-rata

66.80. Kesalahan yang paling besar pada mahasiswa semester lima dalam adverb

clause di jurusan Tadris Bahasa Inggris pada fakultas Tarbiyah dan Keguruan

tahun akademik 2017/2018 adalah adverb clause tipe purpose dengan 6.82%

jawaban salah.
