What does that mean?
• Teaching and Learning: Developing Tech• Teacher-directed instruction• Students using technology for basic skills such as
presentations• Minimal use of technology in foundation TEKS• Campus has at least 2 Technology Application Courses
What does that mean?
• Educator Preparation: Developing Tech• Technology is used for classroom management and
administrative tasks• 40% of educators meet SBEC standards• Administrators expect teachers to use technology• 6% - 24% of technology budget is used for PD
What does that mean?
• Administration and Support: Developing Tech• Teachers and administrators have a vision for technology• One technical support staff per 750 computers
What does that mean?
• Infrastructure for Technology: Target Tech• On-demand access for every student• Rooms connected to WAN• All rooms are fully equipped with appropriate technology
Where do we go from here?
• Goals to reach Target Tech in all areas• Teachers become facilitators, mentors and co-learners• Technology is integrated seamlessly into all core content
areas• Regular learner-centered projects using tech when
appropriate• Administrators ensure integrations of technology
Summary
• WHS has remained Developing Tech for 3 years• Professional Development in technology needs to be
done • Instruction should be differentiated using technology to
reach all students
Together, we can!
