“Don’t let others tell you what you can’t do. Don't let the limitations of others limit your vision. If you can remove your self-doubt and believe in yourself, you can achieve what you never thought possible.”

― Roy T. Bennett

It will be appropriate to mention the names of Rehmat, Gurmannat Kaur, Rishika, Gurkirat Singh & Riddima Pandey in the list of achievers for the month of January 2020. Rehmat a student of Class 7 participated in ‘One Minute Ideas’ at the Tedx held at the Tagore Theatre, Chandigarh in the month of January 2020. She spoke eloquently and we are sure that in the years to come she will excel in all the fields she chooses for herself. Gurmannat Kaur a student of Class 5 is an excellent lawn Tennis player who has participated in many State and National level tournaments. One feather in her cap was winning the All India Tennis Association (AITA) held in Karnal. This is truly an accomplishment for Gurmannat as she competed and defeated National Ranking players and won the Under 12 Tournament.

Yours Sincerely

Poonamjit Kaur, Principal

We take inspiration from Roy T. Bennett’s words as I write this month’s note for all the parents. The December newsletter is dedicated to the students who have achieved excellence in a wide array of fields in the last few weeks. As a school we wish to see each and every individual in the school recognized and celebrated; one

new initiative to make this dream a reality is that, from this month onwards a page of the monthly newsletter will be earmarked for all the achievers of the school. I request all the parents to share with school teachers their child’s achievements outside the school with a small note in the diary.

A big round of applause to the school basketball and footballs teams who participated in 2 different Inter School Tournaments in the month of December. The school’s Under 12 Football team participated in the Brother Mc. Cann Sub Junior Football Tournament held at St John’s School Chandigarh and reached the semi finals. The Basketball team participated in the Emily Gosain Memorial Basketball Tournament held at St Xavier’s School and reached the semifinals. We are sure that many students of our school will shine bright in the future too, be it Tricity, National or International levels. We together with our parent community are committed to ensure that we create more opportunities for all the students to excel in the field they choose.

Wishing everyone a bright and warm spring season!

Rishika a student of class 4 is a multi-talented student who won the 1st position in the Dance Competition held by CAT at Bal Bhawan Sector 23, Chandigarh. Gurkirat Singh Narula of Class 3 and one of the most energetic dancers in our Primary Years; won the Best dancer of the year award at the same event conducted by CAT in the month of December. Riddima Pandey a student of Class 7 won a scholarship of Rs 25,000 in the Hindustan Times Scholarship Programme 2019-20. She will be felicitated at an event to be held in Chandigarh on 30th January 2020.

The CBSE Boards examinations are now a few weeks away and the students are all busy in revisions and final preparations; this is a very crucial time for all of them and us as their parents. It is my request to all of you to take out time and have a conversation with your child. Ask your child what you can do to support them in the last few weeks before the exams begun and then do what they ask! This may be, ‘Sitting with them quietly when they are studying or waking them up at a certain time or giving them a warm cup of milk 2 times a day’. As always parents know their children best!

Bhangra brought in the much needed warmth with beats of the drum. A feather in the cap, Arjan Khangura of Class 6 and Gurmanpreet Singh of Class 9 received the tablets won by them in the Aptitude Test organized by Times of India in association with Byjus.

We all ended the celebrations ended with hot samosas and sweet laddoos. The vibrant energy witnessed in our school for the day was highly inspirational.

The energy of the dance performance of the students was infectious and they had all the students and their teachers matching the beats of the music with the sounds of their claps. The heartwarming skit put up by the students was a delight to witness. A taste of melody was added to the event with the songs sung by our group singers under the able guidance of their music teachers.

The cold foggy Sunday morning of 26th January 2020 welcomed one and all at the school premises in the morning to celebrate Republic Day. The energy and excitement of the students of Class 6 to 10 who had been preparing for the march past, dance presentation, a skit and flag hoisting warmed all hearts as they stood in the ground next to the flag post.

It gives me great pride to share with all of you that the students put up a splendid show to commemorate the 71st Republic Day. The smartly dressed students lead by their student leaders marched on the beat of the drums, with pride in their eyes, smiles on their faces and strength in their footsteps.
