RESEARCH The spice trade refers to trade between
civilizations in Asia, North Africa and Europe. They traded spices like cassia, ginger, cinnamon, cardamom, and turmeric. These five different spices found their way into the Middle East before the Christian Era. The spices were withheld by the traders, and associated with fantastic tales.

directions across Asia, it was mainly by sea that the spice trade grew. Traders were sailing to spice producing land before the Christian era. In East Asia the Chinese went across the waters of Malay Archipelago trade in the Spice Islands.
