Married couples nowadays are having fewer children

They feel they can be better parents by devoting more quality time to one or two children.

Most people also lead a busy lives.

Couples now are more concerned with expense of raising a big family.

IMPORTANCE OF HAVING A SMALL FAMILY

• The needs of children in terms of financial , physical and mental development can be supported.

• The parents can give more attention, love and care to their chldren.

• Parenthood is less likely to become an exercise of self- sacrifice and deprivation.

• There will be more quality time, energy and money for their pursuits.

• Education and health of the children can be given more priority and quality.

• Parents can better afford to provide their children with conducive environment founded on love and enriched by intelligent and responsible guidance

DISADVANTAGE OF HAVING A LARGE FAMILY

• Children are generally more disadvantaged in terms of physical, mental and social development.

• There are lesser opportunities for each child in a large family to be given equal care, attention,education and aguidance.

• The health of the children might be taken for granted in favor of the immediate needs of the family.

• The family members have to settle for smaller portions of food and other material things.

• They need to study hard• Spend wisely the money their parents give.• Help in the house as much as they can.• Growing to be successful and responsible

adults is more than enough payment for all the sacrifices their parents did for them.

• Most of all, love, respect and honor for their parents are the best things the children can give to their parents.
