They shared their blessings so that we might know God’s presence here. Since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight and the sin that clings so closely. Let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith.

On Sunday evening January 28, and in observance of The Holocaust Remembrance Day on January 27, 23 are pleased to welcome Dr. Walter Pories, Founding Chair of the Department of Surgery at East Carolina University and currently the Director of the Bariatric Surgery Research Group. Dr. Pories will share his childhood experience living in Germany in 1939 and his family’s narrow escape from certain death in

the concentration camp at Dachau. The gathering will be at 6:30 pm in the church’s fellowship hall.
