ST. ALPHONSUS C.W.L. BURSARY The St. Alphonsus C.W.L. will award a bursary to a graduating Grade 8 student or students entering Grade 9 at a Catholic high school in North Bay in September 2019. All eligible students are asked to

submit a letter of application for the bursary to a member of the St. Alphonsus C.W.L. Executive no later than June 20, 2019. An eligible student should be a parishioner of the church, or a child or grandchild of a parishioner.

THE SOLEMNITY OF PENTECOST! Pentecost Sunday is one of the most ancient feasts of the Church, celebrated early enough to be mentioned in the Acts of the Apostles (20:16) and Saint Paul's First Letter to the Corin-thians (16:8). It supplants the Jewish feast of Pentecost, which took place 50 days after the Passover and which celebrated the sealing of the Old Covenant on Mount Sinai. On Pentecost Sunday, when the Holy Spirit descended upon the Apostles, they were granted the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Those gifts helped them to fulfill their mission to preach the Gospel to all nations. For us, too, those gifts—granted when we are infused with sanctifying grace, the life of God in our souls—help us to live a Christian life. The seven gifts of the Holy Spirit are: Wisdom, Understanding, Counsel, Fortitude, Knowledge, Piety and Fear of the Lord.

STEUBENVILLE TORONTO CATHOLIC YOUTH CONFERENCE This July, a group of 50 high school students from North Bay and Sault Ste. Marie will join Fr. Daniele to travel to the Steubenville Catholic Youth Conference in Toronto where they will join over 3,000 teenagers for a weekend of prayer, reflection and celebration of our Catholic faith. We ask you to please keep these students in your prayers as they prepare for their trip - that it will be a fruitful experience for them to encounter God and deepen their faith.

BABY BOTTLE CAMPAIGN Our Baby Bottle Campaign at Holy Name of Jesus and St. Alphonsus Liguori is underway in support of the Pregnancy Help & Resource Centre. We ask you to take a baby bottle home, fill it with loose change, cash or a cheque, and return it by NEXT WEEKEND - Father’s Day (June16). All the money goes directly to support those facing unplanned pregnancies and their babies!

SUMMER MASS SCHEDULE IN OUR PARISH COMMUNITY Please note that our regular Mass Schedule for Weekend and Weekday Mass times will resume as normal - even during the Summer months. Daily Mass will be available as per our regular Mass Sched-ule: Tuesdays at 9:00am (Holy Name), Wednesdays at 9:00am (St. Alphonsus), Thursdays at 10:30am (Water’s Edge) and Fridays at 9:00am (Holy Name).

Mass times and Mass Intentions and any necessary Mass cancellations will be published weekly with a condensed weekly Summer Bulletin.
