RationaleThe RGoB took upon itself to take up the project for the following main reasons:

● To create a high speed and reliable contemporary core communication backbone for the country.

● Due to the capital-intensive nature of investment.● To prevent monopolies in the critical backbone infrastructure

even if private players would have been willing to invest.● To reduce the connectivity cost for the end users/customers
