BISHOP STRICKLAND’S ANNUAL APPEAL 2020

The Faith Within Family: The Bishop’s Annual Appeal is our yearly fundraising campaign that supports the ongoing ministries and programs throughout the Diocese of Tyler. This includes the education of seminarians and ongoing formation for current priests, priest retirement, support of Catholic Charities, faith formation programs for our parishes and other ministries. CORONAVIRUS MEANS YOUR BLOOD IS NEEDED NOW MORE THAN EVER!

The coronavirus is causing blood shortages across the United States. An essential role in maintaining our community’s blood supply will be played by the 27th Quarterly Kilgore Community blood drive co-sponsored by the Kilgore Rotary Club on Saturday, April 18, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at 713 Florey Street in Kilgore. Extra precautions are being taken to protect those who donate. Depending on the number of units collected, donors or donor recruiters may be blessed with up to a total of $100 in cash. At dawn the women went to the tomb. There the angel says to them: “Do not be afraid. He is not here; for He has risen”

(vv.5-6). They hear the words of life even as they stand before a tomb...And then they meet Jesus, the giver of all hope, who

confirms the message and says: “Do not be afraid” (v.10). Do not be afraid, do not yield to fear. This is the message of hope.

It is addressed to us, today. These are the words that God repeats to us this very night.
