SCRIPTURE STUDY In the Old Testament Book of Wisdom, an ancient author urges his audience to seek wisdom in order to find God. The Bible Study Group will be examining the Book of Wisdom in a six week course starting May 5 in the PAC at 7 pm. DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY AT ST. FRANCES CABRINI

St. Frances Cabrini will be celebrating the Feast of Divine Mercy on Sunday, April 27th begin-ning with Confessions at 1:30 pm followed by the Chaplet of Divine Mercy at 3:00 pm and con-cluding with the celebration of Holy Mass at 3:15 pm. Holy Mass will be celebrated by Fr. Mi-chael Hendrickson. The Novena leading up to Divine Mercy Sunday will begin on Good Friday.

WHAT DO YOU KNOW? “What do you know?” is the question linking all three readings today. Imagine the shock waves that shot through the city of Jerusalem that first Easter morning. Jesus’ body was missing! By the time Peter spoke the words found in today’s first reading, fifty days had passed, so he began by saying, in effect, “I take it you know what has been reported all over Judea about Jesus of Nazareth.” Of course they knew by then, but in today’s Gospel we are taken back to the first day. We meet Mary Magdalene exclaiming, “We don’t know where they put him!” What do we know? In the second reading Paul asks, “Do you not know that a little yeast leavens all the dough?” Do we know the power of our own faith? Do we know the effect we can have on others? Copyright © J. S. Cuando Pedro pronun-ció las palabras de la primera lectura de hoy, habían pasado cincuenta días y por eso empezó diciendo: “Ustedes saben lo sucedido en toda Judea sobre Jesús de Nazaret . . .” Por supuesto sabían lo ocurrido, pero en el Evangelio de hoy nos transportamos al primer día. Nos en-contramos con María Magdalena exclamando: “¡No sabemos dónde lo han puesto!”

We are looking for new people who wish to join the Society of St. Vincent de Paul and minister to the needy, homeless and less fortunate members of our com-munity. Anyone over the age of 18 is welcome. Currently we are looking for a volunteer to help with data input one or two afternoons or evenings a week and people to help with our Backpack program this summer. The Society of St. Vincent de Paul National Vehicle Donation Program offers a FREE PICKUP SERVICE. Most cars, boats and RV's, running or not are accepted.
