A $49 assessment to be included in the 2011 dues billing
Where will it go?
• Candidate PACs (CREPAC or CREIEC) and other political purposes
Unless you choose for it to go
• Entirely to the C.A.R. general fund for non-candidate political purposes

• Funds PACs
• Positions pro-REALTOR® Candidates Those sharing the attitudes values and beliefs
of organized real estate
• Positions organized real estate to: Promote REALTOR® issues
Promote C.A.R.-sponsored legislation
Support legislation promoting REALTORS®’ ability to do business
Defeat legislation interfering with REALTORS®’ ability to do business

HOW DOES IT HELP?
Works to help C.A.R.:
•Prevent point-of-sale retrofits
•Reduce exposure to lawsuits
•Preserve dual agency
•Preserve the mortgage interest deduction
• Generally to prevent the enactment of legislation adverse to real estate
business interests
C.A.R. tracks approximately 1,500 bills in a legislative session

Recent successes:
1. Preserved property profiles after title companies stopped providing them.
2. Defeated a recurring 3-percent independent contractor withholding proposal.
