Located at Holiday World in Indiana, The Raven has delighted and thrilled riders since it opened in 1995. The traditional wooden coaster didn't break any height, length or speed records, yet it was named a favorite from its first season. In fact, The Raven was named the #1 Wooden Coaster on the Plant from the year 2000 through 2003 and has remained a Top 10 coaster ever since.

• Starting with a list of over 100 possible names, the team's management reduced it to 17. From there, focus groups of a total of 200 Baltimore area residents reduced the list of names to six, and then a phone survey of 1000 people trimmed it down to three, Marauders, Americans, and Ravens. Finally, a fan contest drawing 33,288 voters picked "Ravens", a name that alludes to the famous poem, "The Raven", by Edgar Allan Poe, who spent the latter part of his life in Baltimore, and is also buried there.

• Scott Anthony Levy (born September 8, 1964 in Short Hills, New Jersey) better known by his ring name Raven, is an American professional wrestler, currently under contract with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, and is a former NWA and ECW World Heavyweight Champion.

• On January 7, 1995, now bulked up to approximately 230 lb (104 kg), Levy debuted in Extreme Championship Wrestling under the name Raven (a reference to the poem by Edgar Allan Poe). In a dramatic departure from his former gimmicks, Levy began portraying a depressed, nihilistic, sadistic, misanthrope, grunger.
