    AES 28th INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE

  • Committee’s Greeting

    Dear Audio Friend,

The conference committee welcomes you to the AES 28th International Conference, The Future o f Audio Technology—Surround and Beyond. The two previous AES surround sound conferences—at Schloss Elmau, Germany and Banff, Canada—offered an excellent environment for the exchange of knowledge about surround sound, and we will do our best to uphold that tradition.

Audio engineering is a combination of technology, human sciences, and art. Surround sound is no exception; the papers presented at this conference reflect a number of the diverse aspects of surround sound, and we hope that you will find the program appealing and enlightening.

I would like to thank the staff at AES Headquarters, who have provided invaluable support to the conference committee. I would also like to thank the conference committee and colleagues at Lulea University of Technology for their work in preparing this conference.

It is my hope that you will enjoy the conference and that when you return home afterwards you will have made new acquaintances as well as shared useful and important knowledge.Welcome!
