FROM THE DEPUTY, ORIENT OF THE FAR EAST S.G.I.G. DANIEL R. POOLE, 33°
Greetings To All, I wish each of you a Happy New Year! Congratulations to all of our newly elected leaders! I look forward to seeing your successes not only in the Scottish Rite, but within other Masonic Organizations; I truly believe in the Prince Hall Masonic Family. The need to collaborate and work together on charitable projects is greater now than ever before. We must continue to make a difference, not in rhetoric, but in action. I had the honor to visit and spend time with our Valleys, conducting elections, presenting training, and dispensing charity on behalf of our Orient. My sincere “Thank You”, to all the members for the outstanding participation and support. The hospitality provided was FIRST-CLASS! Your kindness is truly heartfelt. As Scottish Rite Masons, Your Charge is to continue to be exceptional leaders and roll models, setting high standards and examples for others to follow. We are preparing for our 46th Annual Far East COD which we will hold during the same week as the MWPHGL of Washington's Far East District Session in Mainland, Japan. I am excited and looking forward to our fellowship and interactions. Yours in Service,
Daniel R. Poole S.G.I.G. Daniel R. Poole, 33° Deputy, Orient Of The Far East

And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person
well; the Lord will raise him up. If he sinned he will be
forgiven. Therefore, confess your sins to each other and
pray for each other so that you may be healed.

I believe in God, the Grand Architect of the Universe.
The Alpha of the un-reckoned yesterdays, the Omega of the impenetrable tomorrows.
The Beginning and the Ending.
I believe in man, potentially God’s other self. Often faltering on his way upward,
but irrepressible in the urge to scale the spiritual Annapurna’s.
I believe in Free Masonry;
that corporate adventure in universal brotherhood, despising kinship with no child of the All Father.
I believe in Prince Hall Masonry;
a door of benevolence, securely tiled against the unworthy,
but open wide to men of good rapport, whether Aryan or Hottentots.
I believe in Masonic Vows;
the troths of true men, plighted to their better selves.
Latin phrases familiar to Scottish Rite Masons:
"Deus Meumque Jus"--God and My Right
"Spes Mea in Deo Est"--My Hope is in God "Laborare Est Orare"--To Work is to Worship
"Ordo ab Chao"--Order out of Chaos "Fiat Lux et Lux Fit"--Let there be Light and there is Light
"Lux e Tenebris"--Light out of Darkness
"Virtus Junxit Mors Non Separabit" (Whom virtue unites, death will not separate).
