PASTOR CHRIS SANSOM ACCEPTS CALL - INSTALLATION ON OCTOBER 12TH Pastor Chris Sansom has been led to accept our call to serve as another pastor here at St. John Sand Prairie. He is a great preacher & teacher and will take on the responsibilities of youth ministry at our church. He & his wife, Amanda, have 2 children Eliya (5) and Jacob (3) and are in the process of getting settled into the parsonage that has been completely transformed by the dedicated sacrifice of the Trustees and the help of numerous faithful volunteers. Our church has been growing a lot! In the last 3 years, God has led over 130 people to join our church and/or come to faith (22 baptisms this year so far). With Pastor Chris joining our ministry team with Pastor Kevin and DCE Bill, along with the rest of our staff and volunteers, we can better serve our members and the people of our community. You’re invited to the Installation of Pastor Chris Sansom at 4pm on Sunday, Oct 12th. The service will involve area clergy, our choir, brass players, praise team, & a song sung by children of our church & school. Pastor Ron Miller will preach & Pastor Kevin will be the officiant. Circuit Visitor, Pastor Tom Heren will perform the installation. Please join us immediately afterwards for supper in the church fellowship hall.

Another Shepherding Pastor
Jeremiah 3:15 “‘And I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding."
I am greatly looking forward to working with Pastor Chris Sansom. He will be a blessing to our church and ministry. As God continues to call more people into our fellowship, we need more 'shepherds' to take care of God's sheep. While DCE Bill is not an ordained pastor, he also helps us in our ministry as Philippians 4:11 says, "And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers,"
Why do we need these people? Verse 12 answers that question: "to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ."
This also helps us as we strive to, in verses 13-16, "attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God...so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine...Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love."
I look forward to our church continuing to grow in faith and in fellowship as this family of God is built up in love.
In Christ’s Love,
Pastor Kevin
