CAFOD and the Catholic community worldwide has stepped up in support. Groups and individuals are invited to undertake walks in solidarity with our brothers and sisters so that collectively 24,900 miles, the distance around the world, will be covered. If you would like to get involved please take an action card from the back of church. They are looking for volunteers to help fill these bags on the Thursday before the congress (6th September). If any parish groups or individuals would be willing to help with this, please see Fr. The Dowry of Mary Pilgrimage Triduum During the course of 2018 to 2020 the statue of Our Lady from the Slipper Chapel at the Catholic National Shrine in Walsingham will be taken to each Cathedral in England for a three- day triduum of prayer, as part of the preparation for the re-dedication of England as the Dowry of Mary in 2020. Each visit will take place between a Thursday and Saturday. The statue will visit Liverpool - Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King 21st to 23rd June 2018. 30th Anniversary Celebration On Monday 9th July 2018 Father Peter will celebrate his 30th Anniversary as a priest. To mark this auspicious occasion, following the 10:30 Mass on Sunday 8th July, a barbecue will be held in the parish garden. The food for the barbecue will be provided, but parishioners are asked, if they are able, to provide a dessert for a shared dessert table and to provide their own drinks. For catering purposes if you wish to attend please put your name on the list at the back of Church, please also indicate if you are able to provide a pudding. The Parish Pastoral Council would like to thank you for your support: we look forward to welcoming you to this celebration.

Summer Prayer Sheet Please write your prayers and reflections to share with the parish, so that we can produce another wonderful tool for evangelisation. Please send your contributions in for the Summer Prayer Sheet by Sunday 8th July.

Global Healing In response to Pope Francis’ encyclical “Laudato Si” on care for creation the Bishops’ Conference have produced a new film resource—Global Healing. More information will become available as we approach Creation Day on the 1st September.

Catholic Teachers not working in Catholic Schools The Diocese is looking to encourage Catholic teachers who are not working at a Catholic school to return to the Catholic sector. Please see the poster in church for details of an informal session to be held in Altrincham on Saturday 30th June.
