P ATRIOT P RESS The
Dear Patriot Oaks Families,
Here we are at the end of the 1st quarter of school! What an amazing start we
have had! We have taken pictures, figured out schedules, jumped into learning,
conferenced with teachers and have celebrated hundreds of GOOD
CHARGERS. Be sure to check out the Good Charger bulletin boards in the main
hallway and see all the pictures! Way to go everyone!
As we begin this second quarter, we are excited to support our PTO with the
ChargerThon! We had our kick-off last Friday and are conducting our event this
week– Middle school on Thursday through PE classes and Elementary school on
Friday during their resource classes. Elementary kids are to wear their field trip
shirts this Friday for the event. We are confident that we will meet our goal of
$35,000! We blew that goal up last year with donations topping over $50,000. It
takes a village to be that successful for our kids and encourage all of you to be
an active part of that village. Thank you in advance for your support!
A big congratulations to our Volunteers of the Year from the 2017-18 school year!
Please join me in thanking our Youth Volunteer of the Year, Michael Durnin; our
Adult Volunteer of the Year, Nicole Danna; and our Senior Volunteer of the Year,
Margaret Henry. We are so grateful for everyone that donates their time to our
school but especially for these three that truly are outstanding. I look forward to
honoring them later this fall at a district event.
Enjoy your day with your families today, Chargers. We are grateful for you and
your wonderful children. See you all tomorrow!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Olson
