What is Reggaeton?

• Reggaeton is a form of urban music that became popular with Latin American youth in the early 1990s. After its mainstream exposure in 2004, it spread to North American, European and Asian audiences. It is reggae music in spanish.

Did it Originate in Puerto Rico or Panama?

• Reggaeton's predecessor originated in Panama as reggae en español. After the music's gradual exposure in Puerto Rico, it eventually evolved into a new musical style known as reggaeton.

What is the misunderstanding of the Origins of Reggaeton?

• Common misunderstandings of the origins of Reggaeton is that is originated in Panama, however, it originated in Puerto Rico. Reggae in espanol originated in Panama.

Why did the Caribbean's migrate to Panama?

• Many Caribbean's migrated to Panama because of work, they needed to find work so they moved to different countries that offered jobs.
