Smile: A terrific explosion occurs in a gunpowder factory, and once all the mess has been cleared up, an inquiry begins. One of the few survivors is pulled up to make a statement. "Okay Simpson," says the investigator, "you were near the scene, what happened?" "Well, it's like this. Old Charley Higgins was in the mixing room, and I saw him take a cigarette out of his pocket and light up." "He was smoking in the mixing room?" the investigator said in stunned horror, "How long had he been with the company?" "About 20 years, sir" "20 years in the company, then he goes and strikes a match in the mixing room, I'd have thought it would have been the last thing he'd have done." "It was, sir."

Let go of your Stresses! A psychologist walked around a room while teaching stress management to an audience. As she raised a glass of water, everyone expected they’d be asked the “half empty or half full” question. Instead, with a smile on her face, she inquired: ”How heavy is this glass of water?” Answers called out ranged from 8 oz. to 20 oz. She replied, “The absolute weight doesn’t matter. It depends on how long I hold it. If I hold it for a minute, it’s not a problem. If I hold it for an hour, I’ll have an ache in my arm. If I hold it for a day, my arm will feel numb and paralyzed. In each case, the weight of the glass doesn’t change, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes.” She continued, “The stresses and worries in life are like that glass of water. Think about them for a while and nothing happens. Think about them a bit longer and they begin to hurt. And if you think about them all day long, you will feel paralyzed – incapable of doing anything.” It’s important to remember to let go of your stresses. As early in the evening as you can, put all your burdens down. Don’t carry them through the evening and into the night. Remember to put the glass down!

In our Gospel Jesus promises to his disciples the gift of the Holy Spirit who will guide
them into all truth. The Spirit will make known things that are to come, and will glorify
Jesus in that everything declared by the Spirit will be received from Jesus. All that the
Father has belongs to Jesus. The Spirit, then, reveals Jesus who himself has made the
Father known.
FIRST LESSON: FIRST LESSON: FIRST LESSON: FIRST LESSON: Isaiah 6:1-8
In the year that King Uzziah died I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up; and his train filled the temple. Above him stood the seraphim; each had six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. And one called to another and said: "Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory." And the foundations of the thresholds shook at the voice of him who called, and the house was filled with smoke. And I said: "Woe is me! For I am lost; for I am a

Letter from the Rector
Dear Members,
Retiring Collection
Special thanks to those persons who contributed to our Building Fund with special emphasis on the recent repairs to the Church roof.
I know that other persons were unable to contribute to the collection which was done in April. You might not have attended church on that occasion, or might have forgotten to bring your donation. An opportunity will be provided on the last Sunday of this month, 26 May for another Collection.
I look forward to all members making a special contribution to this work.
Offering Envelopes for 2014
The Church Council has made a decision to use only monthly envelopes from next year. This means that we are discontinuing the weekly envelopes. A number of reasons have resulted in this decision:- 1. The cost of the envelopes. 2. The cost of bulk postage from the USA. 3. The monthly envelopes will be cheaper to produce and to post. 4. The wastage of these envelopes, with many of them left unused every year. 5. Persons in many cases have been using one for the month, and leaving the others empty and attached to the one which carries the money. It is hoped that we all would be able to make a calculation of the exact monthly figure. Multiply your weekly contribution by five (5) and come to your final figure.
I am suggesting that persons use the facility offered by Government, through the Inland Revenue to claim on their income tax, and benefit from any refunds which are available.
We are seeking to be more efficient and more cost effective through this venture.
Supper
A special meeting with ALL PERSONS working at the Supper will be held on Wednesday 05 June at 7:30p.m. There will be a presentation led by Mr. Errol Bostic, Environmental Officer attached to the Maurice Byer Polyclinic.
I draw your attention to the list of items needed for our Supper. Tickets are available for the Supper.

Almighty and everlasting God, you have given to us your servants grace, by the
man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts!" Then flew one of the seraphim to me, having in his hand a burning coal which he had taken with tongs from the altar. And he touched my mouth, and said: "Behold, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away, and your sin forgiven." And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?" Then I said, "Here am I! Send me."
PSALM: PSALM: PSALM: PSALM: 29 (as found in Hymns Ancient & Modern)
1. BRING unto the Lord, O ye mighty, bring young rams unto the Lord : ascribe unto the Lord worship and strength. 2. Give the Lord the honour due unto his Name : worship the Lord with holy worship. 3. It is the Lord that commandeth the waters : it is the glorious God that maketh the thunder. 4. It is the Lord that ruleth the sea; the voice of the Lord is mighty in operation : the voice of the Lord is a glorious voice. 5. The voice of the Lord breaketh the cedar-trees : yea, the Lord breaketh the cedars of Libanus. 6. He maketh them also to skip like a calf : Libanus also, and Sirion, like a young unicorn. 7. The voice of the Lord divideth the flames of fire; the voice of the Lord shaketh the wilderness : yea, the Lord shaketh the wilderness of Cades. 8. The voice of the Lord maketh the hinds to bring forth young, and discovereth the thick bushes : in his temple doth every man speak of his honour. 9. The Lord sitteth above the water -flood : and the Lord remaineth a King for ever. 10. The Lord shall give strength unto his people : the Lord shall give his people the blessing of peace.
SECOND LESSON: SECOND LESSON: SECOND LESSON: SECOND LESSON: Revelation 4:1-11
After this I looked, and lo, in heaven an open door! And the first voice, which I had heard speaking to me like a trumpet, said, "Come up hither, and I will show you what must take place after this." At once I was in the Spirit, and lo, a throne stood in heaven, with one seated on the throne! And he who sat there appeared like jasper and carnelian, and round the throne was a rainbow that looked like an emerald. Round the throne were twenty-four thrones, and seated on the thrones were twenty-four elders, clad in white garments, with golden crowns upon their heads. From the throne issue flashes of lightning, and voices and peals of thunder, and before the throne burn seven torches of fire, which are the seven spirits of God; and before the throne there is as it were a sea of glass, like crystal. And round the throne, on each side of the throne, are four living creatures, full of eyes in front and behind: the first living creature like a lion, the second living creature like an ox, the third living creature with the face of a man, and the fourth living creature like a flying eagle. And the four living creatures, each of them with six wings, are full of eyes all round and within, and day and night they never cease to sing, "Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come!" And whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to him who is seated on the throne, who lives for ever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before him who is seated on the throne and worship him who lives for ever and ever; they cast their crowns before the throne, singing, "Worthy art thou, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for thou didst create all things, and by thy will they existed and were created."
THE GOSPEL: THE GOSPEL: THE GOSPEL: THE GOSPEL: John 16: (5-11) 12-15
[But now I am going to him who sent me; yet none of you asks me, `Where are you going?' But because I have said these things to you, sorrow has filled your hearts. Nevertheless I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go

Bidding Prayer
Let us pray to God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
As the mystery of the Holy Trinity has been revealed to the Church, may she continue steadfast in that faith…Grant that our differences of order and diversity of worship may find reconciliation in the unity of love and service.
Now let the glory revealed in Jesus Christ fill the whole world with the message of salvation…May the voice that proclaimed him at the River Jordan be a voice to bring all nations to his service.
In all our relationships, in all our community, grant us the mutual love that has no limits and seeks no advantage…Be at the heart of our family lives, making them images of the love that is in the Holy Trinity.
We pray for those who suffer from oppression and the inequalities of society…Grant them relief and give them perfect freedom in body and mind…Have mercy on all who are in error, all who are led astray by false beliefs, and bring them to the true faith.
We give thanks for the departed who now live in continual praise of God, the Three in One…In the presence where all mysteries are made known, may they rejoice in his glory.
We offer our prayers in the name of Christ, who lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Dedication Prayer (To be said after the Post Communion Prayer)
Lord, be with us this day and throughout the week; Within us to purify us; Above us to draw us up; Before us to lead us; Behind us to restrain us; Around us to protect us. Amen.

away, the Counselor will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. And when he comes, he will convince the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment: concerning sin, because they do not believe in me; concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father, and you will see me no more; concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.] "I have yet many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth; for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you. All that the Father has is mine; therefore I said that he will take what is mine and declare it to you.
