It seems this year has just flown by. It wasnt that long ago when we were celebrating our 20th annual production sale and now were ready to embark on the next chapter. I want to start by thanking my wife, Andrea for all the support and hard work she does for me and our five children Shane, a senior at University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Shelbi, a sophomore at University of Nebraska-Kearney, Brevin, a senior at Seward High School, Natalie, a sophomore at Seward High School and finally the sparkplug of the family, Haylie, who is a fourth grader. Special thanks to my mom for all that she does daily and my brothers, Scott and Bill, and sister, Susan for all their help and support. Special thanks to Andreas Mom and Dad, Alan and Diane Harre (Crusader Simmentals) for being so helpful. I still value all of the partnerships we have with many great Simmental breeders and all the wonderful people that we call good friends. Finally, I want to thank our herdsman, Daniel Ameck for all the time and effort he puts into our cattle operation. It is a privilege to work with all of the consignors at the New Direction Sale, many of whom we consider very good friends. It is always fantastic working with our good friends at DP Sales Management Doug and Debbie, Drew, Holli and Knox. I am extremely excited to provide for you a great selection of Simmental genetics. The special sale attraction will be a tribute to Magnetic Lady. We are selling three outstanding Magnetic Lady daughters, embryos and special packages of embryos. This year we are proud to offer five outstanding herd bull prospects that I know can take any program in the right direction. The bred cow and heifer division is loaded with many excellent prospects, including Ebonys Charm, T18, Mavis, Kiss Me Not, Remington Sandra and others. The open heifers available are very strong with superior purebred and percentage prospects. Finally, we are offering embryos out of many top donors to add some elite genetics to your program. If you have any questions, be sure to contact any of the consignors, consultants, or DP Sales Management. We invite you to join us on Saturday, October 17th for our 21st annual production sale. Nick

Welcome When the gavel fell at the end of the 20th anniversary New Direction Sale, Nick soaked in the success of the event, and about an hour later we were discussing, How do we make next year better? That is one of the things you have to appreciate about Nick Sloup is his forward thinking. Actually I think his mind never stops. Neither does he. He is always working to make Sloup Simmentals better whether it is the day to day chores on the farm, driving donors to Dr. Phils, or purchasing genetics all over the U.S.

As you open this years 21st annual catalog, you will see a tribute to the matriarch and Nicks girl, Magnetic Lady. If you have studied the New Direction catalog over the years, you will see that Nick has a love for Ebony Antoinette. So, it was only fitting at the first Sunset View production sale that Nick purchased an Ebony daughter to add to his herd, and he hasnt looked back since. Magnetic Lady has over 117 progeny reported to her card on the Simmental database, and that number continues to rise. It is special to see a female make such an impact on a program for so many years, and continue that impact on other operations in the Simmental breed.

We might say it every year, but there is literally something for everyone in the New Direction Sale. The cow families are outstanding and represent some of the most sought after genetics in the breed. So now you just have to sift through the pages of information, pedigrees, and planned mating to decide what is coming home to your operation. We could go on and on about the genetics in the New Direction Sale, but we think that what you see throughout the catalog will tell you enough. As always, we are excited to work with the Sloup family and their guest consignors on one of the biggest, most exciting events of the fall. If we can be of service, please do not hesitate to give DP Sales Management, Nick, or the consignors listed about the offering. We hope that you will join us in Seward!

This year we pay tribute to the matriarch of Sloup Simmentals, Magnetic Lady. We purchased Magnetic Lady as a pair from the first Family Traditions production sale, and since then she has had a special place in Nicks heart. M25 has over 100 head on her progeny on her cow card, and is in the top five of registered calves in the Simmental breed. Her progeny has influence in numerous herds across the U.S. If you know Nick and his love of flushing cows, Magnetic Lady has been mated to some of the best bulls in both the Simmental and Angus breeds. There isnt anything this cow hasnt done; producing bulls, fancy open females, and bred females that
