Herd HealthAll Buzzard Hollow Ranch cattle are from Certified Free Brucellosis & Tuberculosis Free state. The mature cattle from BHR have been vaccinated with Bovi-Shield Gold FP5 VL5, Ivermectin and Vision 7. All young cattle from these herds have received Vision 7 with spur and a booster, as well as Bovi Shield Gold FP5 VL5 and a booster, depending on age.

Texas is officially classified as free of Brucellosis and TB.

Other guest consignors’ vaccination programs will be available on sale day or upon request. Required Health Papers will accompany all animals.

to have you visit BHR for this event to inspect the sale cattle from both BHR and the guest consignors.

Commitment is the theme of this year’s event and if you look up Com-mitment this is what you will find for a definition:

that speak louder than words; It is making time when there is no timeThe BHR Commitment to Fullblood, Fleckvieh Simmental and Sim-

brah cattle started in 1982. It has changed very little over the years, even though I have added SimAngus because of their importance to the beef cattle industry in North America and they allowed me to show commer-cial breeders what the Fleckvieh influence can do for their overall opera-tion.

Thirty years of breeding are represented in this sale offering and if you take the time to study the pedigrees you will find the original base genet-ics that started the breeding program at BHR and then if you look at: type, color, calving ease, birth weight and marbling now, verses 1982, you will see what my breeding program has accomplished. Sound functional cattle that calve ease, grow well, milk, and breed back with carcass data to meet the needs of today’s industry. The selection for these traits is exactly what we started in our United States Trade Mark for both the BHR brand and our Buzzard logo.

All the BHR Full Fleckvieh females will be bred to two bulls purchased from Ross & Betty Small, Dora Lee Simmentals in Canada. They offer a little different pedigree with both calving ease and growth with the polled gene since it is a convenience trait that is sought after in North America

at the present time.If you look at the schedule you will see that the format has changed

with the sale starting at 6:00 PM. I did this so an educational meeting could be held in the afternoon. The educational meeting will be a power point presentation, prepared by Peter Massmann of South Africa, on VI-SUAL SELECTION OF SIMMENTAL-FLECKVIEH CATTLE and pre-sented by myself since Peter does not travel abroad anymore. A question and answer period, via Skype, with Peter will follow so you can ask ques-tions directly to Peter.

Another new aspect to this event will be vendor booths such as feed companies, implement displays from our John Deer dealer, Igenity will also be here along with the Texas Beef Council.

The Bull-O-Rama is coming back with two classes of bulls to be judged and then awards will be given to the top three scores and this will be credit to be used in the sale.

Live music will start at 4:00 PM and the evening meal will be served at 5:00 PM with the sale starting at 6 sharp.

As you can see this will be an event not just a sale so I urge all of you to make plans to attend. Door prizes of Peter Massmann’s book will also be part of the event.

Jungle, the sire of Imperial has been the main stay in the BHR herd sire battery over the last several years and I believe that from this sale offering, as well as in the past, you can see why. He has been one, in many herd sires at BHR that had set industry standards for production of quality phenotypic cattle with excellent numbers and carcass data to back them up. BHR has discontinued the sale of Jungle semen and it will only be offered every year in the Designer’s Classic. Selling 2 lots of 10 units of CSS semen that is exportable to all countries except the eU. Price does not include shipping and health papers if required.

BHR Imperial A855 has become the next generation herd sire at BHR. I have already ex-plained his pedigree and his data is printed for your review so I won’t talk about that. BHR Deja A344 has probably created as much stir as any female ever produced here at BHR. A Sunny Valley Sargent daughter out of a polled Takar daughter, purchased from Greg & Page Kemp at Indian Creek Cattle Company in Huntsville Alabama. I just don’t know where you can go to find another female with this much depth of rib, set on excellent feet and legs, with great data in the breed. Deja is bred ¾ mate-rial with just enough power to make her a true donor prospect. You need to take the time to study this pedigree and then study Deja to see if you don’t agree.Deja sells open and ready to flush or breed to the sire of your choice. BHR does retain the right to one viable flush at their expense and at the buyer’s discretion.

The only opportunity to buy Sargent semen in 2015. Sunny Valley Sargent has one of the highest calving ease EPD’s for Fleckvieh sires. When I first bought him, we used him in both my personal herd and Tennessee Tech University’s herd. The first two seasons we had over 150 calves sired by Sargent and we only pulled one calf, it weighed 80 lbs. Sargent also excels in making females. I have over 20 daughters in my herd and they all are moderate framed, heavy milkers with beautiful udders. The purebreds are mostly black and polled with no spots. In addition, the Sargent offspring have a show look to them and have done well in the show ring with a son being named Reserve Grand in the Fleckvieh show in Louisville and granddaughter named Grand Champion in the “Fleck Effect” show. He combines calving ease, maternal strength with show ring looks in a polled, non-dilutor package. Again, this will be the only chance to buy semen this year. Selling 2 lots of 5 straws each

Stromers Girl, Mrs. Stromer and Lady Stromer are flush mate sisters out of the DDD Stacey Mac female now owned by Stanley Martins, Golden Dawn Farms in Iowa. Stacey Mac is a Westdrum Andrew daughter, whose dam is a Balist out of Great Guns Cherie. They are sired by Triple SP Stromer that adds a little different blend to the pedigree. Tre-mendous depth of rib and muscle in these heifers with great carcass data. Hard to find genetics such as these much less a pick of three. These embryo lots are owned by Greg and Paige Kemp of Indian Creek Cattle company and BHR, They represent the heart and soul of old world Fleckvieh genetics. The em-bryos in 5B1 & 5B2 are both of DDD Stacey Mac the Westdrum Andrew daughter now owned by Stanley Martins of Golden Dawn Farms in Iowa and lots 5C1 & 5C2 are out of the DDD Ms Salaman cow. The 5B1 lot consists of 4 # 1 embryos that are sired by Triple SP Stromer and they will be full sibs to lot 5A in the sale so you can see what these embryos will produce in your herd. The 5B2 lot consists of 4 # 1 embryos out of DDD Stacey Mac and the immortal Neff son Canadian Neff and they will be equally as good with just a different twist on the sire side. The 5C1 lot consists of 4 # 1 embryos sired by Siegfried and out of DDD Ms Salamon, the Salamon daughter out of MRL Gerle. Gerle is a C&B Western 2nd daughter out of MRLN Gabi a Pauli daughter out of Gabi. The calves out of these embryos will be full sibs to Lot 58 that is the lead off open heifer in the sale.The 5C2 lot consists of 4 # 1 embryos sired by Haxent the Haxl grandson that produces the same great females as does Haxl. Pedigrees that are full of producing sires that rep-resent the commitment to the breed with the sale of these embryos. I just don’t know where you can go find these genetics any place in the world and it offers you a chance to place these genetics in your herd to build the next generation of sires and dams. All four sets of embryos sell with a guaranteed pregnancy rate of 50% if the work is done by a certified approved embryologist.

Many of you remember BHR Samantha A305 that sold at the 2014 Magnolia’s Classic to Arturo Pedroza for $12,250.00 that was a Sargent Rote daughter out of Lulu. I purchased Lulu in 2012 as an open heifer out of the Magnolia Classic from Doc and Mary Cheek Davis for $3000.00 because she was light red and had a lot of birth weight in her pedigree from her sire ICC Polled Hacks a Dayton’s Polled Neumann son out of a BHR 3-6’s and Hacks Fraulein female. Lulu is a thick growthy female that is just full of red meat with adequate milk, sound feet and legs with perfect shoulders and neck extension. LCF Xpress needs no introduction as many of you have seen the outstanding progeny that he has produced. I used LCF Xpress who is in the top 1% for calving ease, 20% for MWW, 1% for YG, 20% for back fat, 1% for REA & Shear and is 40% or above in all other traits. This will be a great set of calves regardless if they are bulls or heifers. Selling 3 grade 1 embryos with a one embryo pregnancy guarantee if work done by an approved embryologist. Embryos will be exportable to all countries except the EU. Price does not include shipping and health papers if required.
