The Castle was built and finished from 1869 - 1884.

The Neuschwanstein Castle was started by Eduard Riedel and later built by Georg von Dollmann.

The Neuschwanstein Castle was originally ment for the king, until he died in 1886. Since then over 6 million people visit every year.

Neuschwanstein means “ New Swan Stone “. The name of the castle is based on Wagner's opera’s character, the Swan Night.

One of the most interesting facts about The Neuschwanstein Castle is that this castle inspired the Disney movie “Sleeping Beauty”.
