town in order to attend school~
• Worked for the Federal Government for 30 years~
• Owned farms in Loudoun, Frederick and Shenandoah County~
• Was a resident of Strasburg when she died in 2002~
Helen Moore’s LegacyHelen Moore’s Legacy
• Helen Moore left her estate, valued at over 3 million dollars, to benefit the students of Shenandoah County Public Schools.
• The interest from the trust will be awarded to teachers and teacher groups each year to allow them to fund special projects.
• Individual grant awards may be for as much as $20,000.

• Application deadline is November 30, 2007

• A committee will be organized to review applications.
• Grants will be awarded in January.

• It is the mission of the Moore Educational Trust to provide special opportunities to benefit the Shenandoah County Public Schools above and beyond the programs normally funded by Shenandoah County, Virginia, and is not to replace such usual funding.
