Our vision is to empower young people and their teachers with skills for life through developing mindful practices in schools and classrooms. Mindfulness involves learning to direct our attention to our experience as it is unfolding, moment by moment, with open-minded curiosity and acceptance. Rather than worrying about what has happened or might happen, mindfulness trains us to respond skilfully to whatever is happening right now. Why teach students mindfulness? Research shows the benefits of mindfulness for students include: Reduced levels of stress and anxiety Improved concentration and memory More successful impulse control & self-regulation Greater self -awareness Increased empathy and compassion for self and others Many students benefit from mindfulness practices to achieve goals more effectively – such as focus in class, achieve in sport, or get on with others.
