Chuck Walton stood speechless, his emotion choking his words. Chuck was an SIL (Summer Institute of Linguistics) Bible translator who had labored with his wife

in southern Philippines for many years to bring the New

Testament in one of the language groups.

They have seen God’s faithfulness and his provision and the fruit of their work in the publication of their translated New Testament. But they have not seen many people come to know Christ. They had faithfully prayed for the church of the Lord Jesus Christ to be established in southern Philippines.

Retirement had brought them back to the states. Marissa, who oversees some of the work in southern Philippines, was speaking at a church in Pennsylvania and someone invited Chuck to hear her. That meeting was what led Chuck to the MSC conference we are attending.

Chuck and his wife have faithfully prayed for God to save people and establish His church. He did not imagine that

he would see, in his lifetime, God answering their prayer. Looking at the young faces of the Filipino frontliners—

God’s answer to their prayers, brought tears of joy to his face.

We are excited to share with you what God is doing!
