The Meetings Show has announced it will be working in partnership with The Meetings Design Institute at this
year's show.
The Meetings Show has announced it will be working in partnership with The Meetings Design Institute to create a
series of plenary sessions dedicated to the creation of top quality, engaging meetings and event content during the
2015 show, which takes place at Olympia, London, from 7-9 July.
Many would argue that the format and content of a meeting matters far more than logistics, technology and even
price, quite simply because content and format are so fundamental to an audiences ability to engage. And no
engagement means no point holding an event, comments The Meetings Shows Event Director, Steve Knight. Our
research and discussions with organisers from across a host of sectors organising events clearly demonstrates the
importance of meetings design and content creation, hence the decision to create an entire stream based around the
topic at this years show.
Sessions include:
Presentation design & speaker management Improving a speakers skills and their presentation is arguably
the easiest place to achieve a significant improvement for the least effort.
Meeting formats know-how - Moving furniture and changing activities are just two of seven ways of creating
a session that is different, fun and supports a meetings objectives.
Back to Back events: shared economy in the meetings industry - Why should we bother to organise back to
back meetings? Is it only about saving costs, being eco-friendly or can it lead to greater value and engagement?
Injecting ITERACTIO into onsite and online attendees - 7 tools and 7 ways to increase interaction.
HYBRID: Online successes and The ITERREG Case Study 800 participants onsite and 2,500 online.
Why and how did they succeed?
Design: why to use visuals in meetings? - Visuals play a decisive role in meetings? Discover new ways to
activate visuals before, during and after a meeting from a photographer, visual facilitator and artist.
Maarten Vanneste, from The Meetings Design Institute said: Meeting design is about improving the impact and
effectiveness of meetings and events. Stay ahead with new formats, techniques and tools, and drive your career
through The Meetings Shows education programme.

Home News Shows imago to launch new industry research on future of face to face meetings at The Meetings Show
Category: Show Created on Monday, 01 June 2015 15:30
Research on The Future of Face to Face Meetings environment will be launched by imago at The Meetings Show next month as part of its education
programme.
Undertaken by imago in partnership with Loughborough University, this will be the industry's first opportunity to examine the research and its implications for
the meetings sector moving forward. The results will be presented on Wednesday July 8th in an open forum by the research team, which includes Emma
Boynton, head of sales and marketing at imago, and Sally Greenhill from The Right Solution.
Emma comments: The research we have undertaken examines the importance and benefits of learning in a face to face environment and whether it can compete with other
forms of communication, particularly amongst tomorrow's business leaders. The results of this research will allow us, and other organisations, to build a better picture of the
economic market place to spot opportunities that are not being maximised or highlight areas of the market that are over saturated. We welcome everybody along to hear the
results and find out how face to face meetings play an important role in the way we conduct business.
The Future of Face to Face Meetings Environment will take place on Wednesday July 8 at The Meetings Show, held at Olympia, London (3.50pm).
Based in Loughborough, Leicestershire, imago provides high quality meeting spaces, venues and accommodation along with excellent sports and leisure facilities.

Home News Shows Opening of hosted buyer diaries set to deliver significant business opportunities for The Meetings Shows attendees
Category: Show Created on Wednesday, 03 June 2015 12:30
The hosted buyer diary for The Meetings Show is live, allowing buyers to schedule appointments with
exhibitors of their choice. The hosted buyer programme, which is the cornerstone of the event, allows buyers to
choose appointments with exhibitors that are of genuine interest to their business. The opening of the online diary
marks a significant moment in the events progress as buyers start to network, plan time together and prepare for the
show in July.
"Last years event saw more than 10,000 face to face meetings between exhibitors and buyers this year we are expecting this to be significantly higher as visitors and
exhibitors gather to generate business and deliver opportunities for all involved, comments The Meetings Shows Event Director, Steve Knight.
The opening of the hosted buyer diary is a really exciting moment in the life-cycle of our event, and we are already seeing significant activity particularly amongst UK
buyers. It provides buyers and exhibitors with their initial means of contact and really allows them to start building relationships in the run up to the show. Our focus is to
create a community and environment where attendees can get the most out of their time, whether it be developing relationships with potential business partners or learning
from the highest quality educators, the diary is an integral part of that process.
Qualified hosted buyers are in charge of their itineraries and make their own appointments, giving them the freedom to choose meetings with the exhibitors who are right for
their business; they receive complimentary travel and accommodation as well as transportation to Olympia from host hotels and networking venues; a choice of hosted buyer
lounges; and a range of high quality networking events and education sessions. A specially created, flexible option also exists for individuals who live or work within
commuting distance of The Meetings Show but wish to receive the on-site benefits

Home News Shows Technology remains central to The Meetings Shows education programme
Category: Show Created on Monday, 01 June 2015 15:50
Responding directly to attendee feedback, technology will once again feature heavily throughout The Meetings Shows education programme.
In addition to bespoke technology sessions in the healthcare, PA, corporate, agency and association streams, The Meetings Shows education programme will
feature an entire stream dedicated to the use of technology in events. The technology programme has been created in partnership with Maarten Vanneste
from The Meetings Design Institute.
Our busiest and highest rated sessions throughout the whole of the 2014 programme were those related to technology, comments The Meetings Shows Event Director,
Steve Knight. Meetings and event organisers are bombarded with opportunities to improve their events through the use of the latest technology. Our sessions assess the
importance, value and benefit of such technologies and how best they can be integrated into successful events.
Once again The Meetings Show is reacting to the needs of the industry through such focused content; basing education content on post show feedback, anecdotal evidence
even click through rates on regular newsletters all of which highlight the importance of technology.
The technology stream includes the following sessions:
24/7: technology innovations for meetings and events - Technology is moving fast, change is everywhere; today its hot, and tomorrow its not. 24/7 is a high-speed,
educational session built around specialised technology topics. For 24 minutes you join your preferred table and discuss 7 hot topics before moving on.
7 wearable technologies for meetings - On our wrist, on our pocket and even on our head, wearable technology is becoming a serious part of daily life. But does it
play a role in meetings and events?
Beacons & Geo-location: shedding light on participant behaviour - iBeacons, RFID, face recognition and other tracking and tracing technology. What is possible and
when and why does it make sense to use it at a meeting?
HYBRID: Technology to capture content - Capturing the content of a meeting is becoming a must. If you havent done it, you are missing out on a massive
opportunity. Whats changed over the past few years and what are the latest trends and solutions to consider.
Activating your online community - Are we more community leaders than meeting planners? Is social media reaching a tipping point? How do you get your online
participants involved? Using the FRESH conference as a case study we explore this ever changing landscape.
The Tower of e-Bible - And they said, go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered
abroad upon the face of the whole earth. A therapeutic workshop for people that feel they are technologically overstretched, cognitively challenged, and socially stressed.
Maarten Vanneste, from The Meetings Design Institute said: Technology evolves fast, new possibilities emerge and new technologies are examined ever more closely. To be
able to innovate effectively it is always good to get The Meetings Show update.
Organised by Centaur Live Media, The Meetings Show is the premier event for the UK inbound and outbound meetings industry, taking place 7-9 July 2015 at Olympia,
London. Organised by meeting professionals for meeting professionals it is focused around a large exhibition, networking opportunities and professional education.

The Meetings Show has announced it will be working in partnership with The Meetings Design Institute to create a series of plenary sessions dedicated to the

imago to launch new industry research on future of face to face meetings at The Meetings
ShowPublished on : Monday, June 1, 2015
Undertaken by imago in partnership with Loughborough
University, this will be the industrys first opportunity to
examine the research and its implications for the meetings
sector moving forward. The results will be presented on
Wednesday July 8th in an open forum by the research team,
which includes Emma Boynton, head of sales and marketing at
imago, and Sally Greenhill from The Right Solution.
Emma comments: The research we have undertaken examines
the importance and benefits of learning in a face to face
environment and whether it can compete with other forms of
communication, particularly amongst tomorrows business
leaders. The results of this research will allow us, and other organisations, to build a better picture of the
economic market place to spot opportunities that are not being maximised or highlight areas of the market that
are over saturated. We welcome everybody along to hear the results and find out how face to face meetings play
an important role in the way we conduct business.
The Future of Face to Face Meetings Environment will take place on Wednesday July 8 at The Meetings Show,
held at Olympia, London (3.50pm).

Technology remains central to The Meetings Shows education programme
Published on : Monday, June 1, 2015
Responding directly to attendee feedback, technology will once
again feature heavily throughout The Meetings Shows education
programme. In addition to bespoke technology sessions in the
healthcare, PA, corporate, agency and association streams, The
Meetings Shows education programme will feature an entire
stream dedicated to the use of technology in events. The
technology programme has been created in partnership with
Maarten Vanneste from The Meetings Design Institute.
Our busiest and highest rated sessions throughout the whole of
the 2014 programme were those related to technology,
comments The Meetings Shows Event Director, Steve Knight. Meetings and event organisers are bombarded
with opportunities to improve their events through the use of the latest technology. Our sessions assess the
importance, value and benefit of such technologies and how best they can be integrated into successful events.
Once again The Meetings Show is reacting to the needs of the industry through such focused content; basing
education content on post show feedback, anecdotal evidence even click through rates on regular newsletters
all of which highlight the importance of technology.
The technology stream includes the following sessions:
24/7: technology innovations for meetings and events Technology is moving fast, change is everywhere;
today its hot, and tomorrow its not. 24/7 is a high-speed, educational session built around specialised
technology topics. For 24 minutes you join your preferred table and discuss 7 hot topics before moving on.
7 wearable technologies for meetings On our wrist, on our pocket and even on our head, wearable
technology is becoming a serious part of daily life. But does it play a role in meetings and events?
Beacons & Geo-location: shedding light on participant behaviour iBeacons, RFID, face recognition and other
tracking and tracing technology. What is possible and when and why does it make sense to use it at a meeting?
HYBRID: Technology to capture content Capturing the content of a meeting is becoming a must. If you
havent done it, you are missing out on a massive opportunity. Whats changed over the past few years and what
are the latest trends and solutions to consider.
Activating your online community Are we more community leaders than meeting planners? Is social media
reaching a tipping point? How do you get your online participants involved? Using the FRESH conference as a
case study we explore this ever changing landscape.
The Tower of e-Bible And they said, go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto
heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth. A therapeutic
workshop for people that feel they are technologically overstretched, cognitively challenged, and socially
stressed.
Maarten Vanneste, from The Meetings Design Institute said: Technology evolves fast, new possibilities emerge
and new technologies are examined ever more closely. To be able to innovate effectively it is always good to get
The Meetings Show update.
Organised by Centaur Live Media, The Meetings Show is the premier event for the UK inbound and outbound
meetings industry, taking place 7-9 July 2015 at Olympia, London. Organised by meeting professionals for
meeting professionals it is focused around a large exhibition, networking opportunities and professional
education.

The Meetings Show focuses on dedicated Meetings Design education stream
Published on : Wednesday, June 10, 2015
The Meetings Show has announced it will be working in
partnership with The Meetings Design Institute to create a series
of plenary sessions dedicated to the creation of top quality,
engaging meetings and event content during the 2015 show,
which takes place at Olympia, London, from 7-9 July.
Many would argue that the format and content of a meeting
matters far more than logistics, technology and even price, quite
simply because content and format are so fundamental to an
audiences ability to engage. And no engagement means no
point holding an event, comments The Meetings Shows Event
Director, Steve Knight. Our research and discussions with
organisers from across a host of sectors organising events clearly demonstrates the importance of meetings
design and content creation, hence the decision to create an entire stream based around the topic at this years
show.
Sessions include:
Presentation design & speaker management Improving a speakers skills and their
presentation is arguably the easiest place to achieve a significant improvement for the leasteffort.
Meeting formats know-how - Moving furniture and changing activities are just two of
seven ways of creating a session that is different, fun and supports a meetings objectives. Back to Back events: shared economy in the meetings industry - Why should we
bother to organise back to back meetings? Is it only about saving costs, being eco-friendly orcan it lead to greater value and engagement?
Injecting INTERACTION into onsite and online attendees - 7 tools and 7 ways toincrease interaction.
HYBRID: Online successes and The INTERREG Case Study 800 participants onsite
and 2,500 online. Why and how did they succeed? Design: why to use visuals in meetings? - Visuals play a decisive role in meetings?
Discover new ways to activate visuals before, during and after a meeting from a photographer, visual facilitator and artist.
Maarten Vanneste, from The Meetings Design Institute said: Meeting design is about improving the impact and
effectiveness of meetings and events. Stay ahead with new formats, techniques and tools, and drive your career
through The Meetings Shows education programme.
Organised by Centaur Live (a division of Centaur Media Plc), The Meetings Show is the premier event for the UK
inbound and outbound meetings industry, taking place 7-9 July 2015 at Olympia, London. Organised by meeting
professionals for meeting professionals it is focused around a large exhibition, networking opportunities and

Category: Show Created on Tuesday, 16 June 2015 16:30
The future of medical meeting trends, new sponsorship models, compliance, regulatory updates and ToV Readiness
are key themes to be discussed during the bespoke healthcare education stream at The Meetings Show 2015 from
7-9 July, 2015.
Speakers include:
Nicky Simpson, Astellas; Joanna Lawlor, Astra Zeneca; Nigel Glover, Takeda; Martin Jensen, Lundbeck; Caroline

Eucomed / MedTech; Chris Emitt, Crystal Interactive; Michael Foreman and Simon Maier TFI Group; Tom Witney, Real Science Communications; and Kerrin
MacPhie, ACC Liverpool
Our education programme is not a one size fits all approach, a fact that is clearly demonstrated by the expertise and knowledge of those delivering our bespoke healthcare
sessions, comments Steve Knight, The Meetings Shows Event Director. The healthcare and pharmaceutical industries are amongst the largest organisers of meetings and
events in the world, they face some of the greatest challenges in terms of compliance, logistics and technology; and we consider it our responsibility to deliver content that is
of significant benefit to them as individuals.
The Meetings Shows approach to education continues to focus on the delivery of quality content identified and created by industry leaders with direct experience working in
key sectors.
Our research has clearly shown that education needs to be bespoke to individual audiences attending the show, continues Knight. This has resulted in a wide ranging
programme split into clearly defined streams covering the healthcare sector, technology, agencies, meeting design, in house corporate organisers and PAs. All of which are
in addition to the focused Association Meetings Conference taking place on 6 July at The QEII Centre.
Created in partnership with Caroline Mackenzie, Director, Association Services, Zibrant, the healthcare stream directly responds to the needs and issues of professionals
delivering conferences, meetings and events for the healthcare and pharmaceutical markets.
Sessions include:
The Future of Medical Meetings: the views of the healthcare professionals
Medical Society Congress Sponsorship: new models
Creating Mutually Beneficial Relationships between Agencies and Venues
ToV Readiness: Planning, adoption and implementing a software solution
How to create mutually beneficial corporate and agency relationships
Working effectively and winning in a strategic procurement environment

Home News Agency Upcoming ABPCO roundtable featuring AstraZeneca expert to address Pharmaceutical compliance and medical events
Category: Agency & Association Created on Wednesday, 17 June 2015 16:15
The Association of British Professional Conference Organisers (ABPCO) will host its next roundtable
event at One Wimpole Street, home of the Royal Society of Medicine on Tuesday 7th July (7.30am-10am).
The event will look at organising medical and scientific events that comply with pharmaceutical regulations with expert
speakers Joanna Lawlor, Global Events Director at AstraZeneca, and Mark Handforth of Compliant Venues. The
speakers will explore best practice, sponsorship DOs and DONTs, changes to regulations, risks and current
challenges.
Our roundtable events have been a great success recently but this promises to be something special for those attending,
comments Nicole Leida, joint-chair of ABPCO. We have two expert speakers in Joanna and Mark and we hope to address
everything the attendees need to know about medical and scientific events but are perhaps too scared to ask.
The event will take the form of an interactive forum with plenty of time for audience participation and a Q&A session. A complimentary breakfast will also be served during
registration with a chance to visit the facilities at One Wimpole Street at the end of the event.
This roundtable event will run early in the morning so those attending can then head to The Meetings Show at Olympia, London afterwards. ABPCO joint-chairs Nicole Leida
and Caroline Windsor will also be taking part in a panel session discussion regarding meeting planning as an evolving function at the Association Meetings Conference on
Monday 6th July.

Home News Shows Barbicans Conservatory to be re-launched at The Meetings Show
Category: Show Created on Friday, 19 June 2015 10:30
The Barbican will be re-launching its Conservatory event space at The Meetings Show on stand G22 next month.
The Conservatory is a hidden tropical oasis. Home to exotic fish and 2,000 species of plants and trees, it is the second largest glass house in London, and one
of the Barbicans most popular event spaces.
The Conservatory is undoubtedly a unique event space in the City of London, comments Oliver Hargreaves, Deputy Head of Sales at Barbican Business Events. Its
versatility when it comes to events really makes it popular amongst delegates here and by re-launching it at The Meetings Show in July we hope to bring it to a whole new
audience that may otherwise not have known about it. If youre looking for a unique venue in the heart of London then come and see us on stand G22 and learn more about
the Conservatory.
Protected by its glass roof the Conservatory is suitable to be used in any weather conditions and can accommodate up to 100 delegates for a standing fork buffet or 150
guests for a drinks reception. A staircase leads to the terrace which creates a flexible networking space for events overlooking the tropical treetops of the Conservatory. Up to
200 delegates can be accommodated on the terrace for either a drinks reception or private dining.
The Barbican will be attending The Meetings Show 2015 between Tuesday 7th and Thursday 9th July at Olympia, London on stand G22. For further information on The
Meetings Show, visit www.themeetingsshow.com
The Conservatory is just one of many spaces available for corporate events and weddings at the Barbican.

PCMA partnership with The Meetings Show includes tailored education
Published on : Monday, June 22, 2015
The Professional Convention Management Association [PCMA]
has partnered with The Meetings Show as part of its ongoing
focus on the delivery of superior and innovative education,
whilst promoting the value of professional convention
management.
Sherrif Karamat, the PCMA Chief Operating Officer commented:
As one of the worlds leading associations for convention and
meeting planners, the PCMA is continually looking to work with
like-minded partners working at the heart of both the corporate
and association side of the meetings and events industry. The Meetings Show has firmly established its position
as the UKs leading trade show for domestic and international events, particularly in terms of the quality of their
buyer attendees and high quality exhibitor list. Working alongside the show allows us to become even closer to
the UK buyer market, which is strongly represented at the show.
Education content tailored specifically for corporate and association meetings and events planners has been
created by the PCMA including:
Data Increasing Revenues while Diversifying Revenue Streams: In a digitalised economy we frequently hear
buzz phrases such as predictive analytics and data driven decision making, however they are usually
broad-based and frequently only scratch the surface of the topic. This session takes a deep dive into how we can
effectively use data to drive new revenues while most importantly diversifying revenue streams.
Straight Talk from Corporate Meeting Professionals: What We Really Want from the Meetings Department: In an
era of globalisation, rapid integration of technology and an ever increasing demand for better returns on your
meeting investments, meeting professionals are not only demanding more from all their stakeholders and
partners, they are also demanding to be a part of the development of the objectives and strategy for their
programs. This session will explore how to get that strategic seat at the table and fulfil executives expectations
once you get there.
The Meetings Show is the ideal place for planners to meet, learn and network but we need to continue looking
for new ways and new content to ensure their continued attendance and support, comments event director,
Steve Knight. The Meetings Show is the only show in the UK where hosted buyers and visitors can engage
directly with the PCMA. Our partnership adds significant value and credibility to the whole visitor buyer
experience, whilst these focused education sessions give attendees something genuinely new and directly
relevant to their role.
Organised by Centaur Live (a division of Centaur Media Plc), The Meetings Show is the premier event for the UK
inbound and outbound meetings industry, taking place 7-9 July 2015 at Olympia, London. Organised by meeting
