Dressage Rides may be limited.
Show management will schedule ride times between approximately 8AM and 5 PM on Sunday. This will
determine the approximate number of rides to fill each day and complete a class. In the event the rides are
overfilled, there will be a waiting list established for scratches by a new rider/horse combination to fill that time
slot. Scratches will be filled on a first come first serve basis to fill the slot in the particular class.” No show” fees
will be applied to entries not scratching their class.

SHOW INFORMATION
AHA ONE-DAY SHOW RULES: All classes are to be conducted in accordance with the rules of AHA. Judging, class
specifications, rules and conduct shall be in accordance with the current USEF Rulebook. All decisions made by the
judge and/or show management are deemed final and cannot be protested.
ARABIAN REGISTRATION PAPERS: Arabian and Half-Arabian/Anglo-Arabian horses one year of age or over must
be registered or if under one year of age, be eligible for registry and registration applied for. A copy of the
registration papers for each horse entered in this show must be sent with entries. Copies of both registrations
must be sent for horses being shown in both the Half-Arabian and Anglo-Arabian. Horses must be shown under
their full registered name. (AR101)
AHA MEMBERSHIP STATEMENT: EACH COMPETITOR (THIS INCLUDES AT LEAST ONE RECORDED OWNER AND
ALL TRAINERS, DRIVERS, RIDERS, HALTER HANDLERS, COACHES AND THE PERSONS(S) SIGNNG THE ENTRY
BLANK) IN AN ARABIAN HORSE ASSOCIATION RECOGNIZED ARABIAN DIVISION, AT THE TIME OF ENTRY INTO A

EXHIBITORS IN LEAD LINE CLASSES OR PARENTS/GUARDIANS SIGNING FOR MINORS ARE EXEMPT FROM AHA
MEMBERHSIP REQUIREMENTS.
PROTECTIVE HEADGEAR RULES FOR DRESSAGE: Effective April 1, 2013, for dressage: From the time horses are
officially admitted to the competition grounds including non-competing rider, riders on Non-competing horses,
and those competing in all dressage classes and tests, including Para-Equestrian, must wear protective headgear as
defined by this rule and otherwise in compliance with CR801. Any rider violating this rule at any time must
immediately be prohibited from further riding until such headgear is properly in place.
TACK- Tack may be subject to inspection by show management. (Bit check, Whip Check, etc.)
LATE ENTRY CHARGES: Entries NOT received by the established receipt date, will be charged a LATE CHARGE of
$20 per horse. Full payment of entries, including stalls, must accompany mailing in order to be processed.
FACILITY: The Iowa Equestrian Center is located on the south side of Cedar Rapids, just south of US Hwy 30 and
east of I-380. Camping is available on-site. More info can be found on their website at www.iowaequestrian.com.
The stalling barn features 210 10' x 10' stalls, 10 warm water wash racks, a show manager office, restrooms,
concrete alleys, and rubber mats in all permanent stalls.
Horses will not be allowed to show out of a trailer. They must have an assigned stall.
SHOW ARENAS:
Indoor Arena – The show arena is 100’x 200’ with sand footing, fully heated, and has a viewing section. A 20 x 60-meter standard dressage arena will be set up in the indoor arena.
Outdoor Arena – If entries warrant, a 20x40 short arena will be set up in the outdoor arena.
Warm-up arena - The large indoor warm-up arena is 88' x 120' and connects directly to our indoor show arena. No more than 6 riders will be allowed in the warm-up. No lunging is allowed where there are mounted riders. ASTM helmets are required while mounted.
HOTELS: There are a large number of hotels in the area to choose from. Here are a few of them: Hotel at
Kirkwood 319-848-8700, Country Inn & Suites, 319-363-3789, AmericInn 319-632-1800, Econo Lodge 319-363-
8888, and Fairfield Inn 319-247-1000. Many of these offer special horse show rates, so be sure to ask.
CAMPING: The IEC has 28 electric hook-ups available for campers at $30/night. All camping arrangements and
fees are to be handled through the Show Office. Call Marcia @ 563-357-1292 to reserve your spot. Non-electric
camping is allowed at no charge.
STALL FEES ARE NOT REFUNDABLE: whether they are used or not. Excess stalls should be reported to the Barn
Manager and if the stall is sold, credit will be allowed ONLY if all other stalls have been sold, even though Barn
Manager has the option to use stalls released as excess. Barn Manager is responsible to determine all stall
assignments and allowance of stall refund, if any. No stalls assigned to you can be used by another exhibitor
without consent of the barn manager. Exhibitors wishing to be stalled together should send their entries in
together and/or send a complete list naming those exhibitors who wish to be stalled together to
[email protected]. The show committee reserves the right to limit tack stalls to 1 for every 3 horses if
it becomes necessary, without notification prior to arrival. NOTE: Portable stalling must be used when numbers of
entries requires additional stalls.
BEDDING: Two bags of bedding are included in the price of the stall. Exhibitors may order additional bedding. IEC
policy requires that exhibitors use only the bedding provided. Show exhibitors cannot bring their own bedding
into the stall barn. If your horse requires alternative bedding, a Vet certificate is required. Please contact the
Barn Manger for bedding requests or order your shavings on the entry form.
ARRIVAL TIME: Horses will be regularly accepted from NOON Friday November 2. The Barn Manager will post the
stall assignment chart outside the show office (bottom of the ramp to the warm-up arena) showing assignments of
prepaid stalls. Persons wishing to arrive on grounds prior to the accepted arrival time must make special
arrangements with the Barn manager. DO NOT STALL A HORSE UNTIL PREPAID STALL HAS BEEN ASSIGNED.
Unassigned horses must be checked in with the Barn Manager before being stalled and no horse may switch stalls
without knowledge and consent of the Barn manager.
DEPARTURE TIME: All stalls MUST BE VACATED BY the conclusion of the show. Persons needing to remain on
grounds after this time must make special arrangements with the Show Management and pay any additional fee.
Show Office may be able to assist you with arrangements.
SHOW OFFICE HOURS: Show office will open no later than 3:00PM on Friday. Each day of the show, the show
office will open for business no later than 7:00 AM and will close from time to time during the show and will open
no later than one half hour after the last class of the day, unless otherwise announced. Exhibitors are encouraged
to report to the show office promptly to pick up show packets, correct any pending items, or make entries.
Post entries the day of the show will be accepted ONLY if there is a scratch within a specific class. The only
exception to this would be the Sport Horse Under Saddle Classes. Show Office MUST be advised promptly of entry
changes/cancellations. FAILURE TO DO SO COULD RESULT IN ADDITIONAL FEES.
HEALTH PAPERS: All out of state horses must have a negative Coggins Test dated within 12 months of the start of
the show and a health certificate to be presented to the show office. Horses not in compliance with this rule may
be required to leave the competition grounds upon request by Competition Management.
REFUNDS FOR CLASS ENTRIES ONLY will be made upon presentation to the show secretary (delivered in person to
show office or mailed) a signed and dated Veterinarian’s Certificate prior to the start of the show. All refunds will
be made by mail within 15 days of day of show closing, unless used as a credit to the show tab.
RETURNED CHECKS: Checks returned to IaAHA for any reason will be assessed an additional $50.00 fee per check.
If restitution is not made immediately upon first verbal or written notification, IaAHA will take appropriate action
with AHA, and payer will be barred from taking place in any IaAHA show until final settlement is made. IaAHA
reserves the right to require certified funds from any individual that has had a check returned to IaAHA.
SHOWING OF STALLIONS: Stallions may be shown by junior exhibitors except in Walt-Trot classes.
DOGS: All dogs MUST be confined to a leash at all times. No dogs will be allowed in the Show Arena at any time.
This is an Iowa Equestrian Center rule.
CONFIRMATION/TIMES: Confirmation of entry will be emailed. All email addresses must be clearly printed. Ride
times and show updates will be posted at www.iowaarabianhorseassociation or our Facebook page. It is the
responsibility of the rider to inform show management of any time conflicts as soon as possible after receiving
their ride times. The final class schedule will be posted and available at the show office.
GR845 Equine Vaccination Rule
1. At Federation licensed competitions, horses entering the grounds must be accompanied by documentation of
Equine Influenza Virus and Equine Herpes Virus (Rhinopneumonitis) vaccinations within six months prior to
entering the stables. Horses not in compliance with this rule may be required to leave the competition grounds
upon request by Competition Management. Documentation should consist of one of the following methods
mentioned below. The frequency of vaccine administration should be per the vaccine manufacturers’ or
veterinarian’s recommendations. It is recommended that vaccines are administered by or under the direction of a
veterinarian.
The flu vaccination information can be added to either document, a health certificate or a negative Coggins test.
