Product: “X-Cross” Kids Bicycle
1. Performance Must be easy to operate-it is expected that the user age group is 5 to 1
years The Product should withstand rough handling
2. Environment Resistant to adverse weather conditions The product should be resistant to corrosion from salt water The product should withstand a shock load of 2268kg ( 5000lb) The product should be able to withstand vandalism Dust and dirt should be easily cleaned from the product
3. Life in Service A minimum 10 years is required for this product and 15years is desirable
1. Maintenance Screws, bolts & washers used must comply with standards Parts that require lubrication must be accessible The replacement of spare parts must be easily done
Target Product Cost The product is aimed at the mid-price range retail cost is
Rs-6000 and target cost for manufacture is between Rs- 2500 to Rs-3000.

Size must be kept to a minimum. Cost must be kept to a minimum Must be waterproof Must be easily unpacked by the customer Company logo must be clearly shown on package

Shelf life storage The product will be stored 10 units to one box within the company’s warehouse There are no limitations on shelf life as this is non –perishable product
Processes There are no limitations to the manufacturing process
Timescale Design process complete -1jun 2014 Commence manufacturing-1 December 2014 Delivery of the bicycle- 1March 2015
Safety The product should be safe enough to be used
Company Constraints There are no manufacturing constraints so no company constraints Depending on product sale more production staff might have to be
employed
Market constraints The product will be marketed on a worldwide basis
Patents You are not infringing on other individuals patents or products
Political/social implications The name of he product should be thoroughly checked when considering
exportation to non-English speaking countries Logos and colors used in the product should be checked with the individual
countries tastes Product should be manufactured it company’s social and ethical guidelines
Installation Product is readily assembled and doesn’t require user assembly for use
Disposal Product and constituent components are able to be disassembled for
disposal and recycling where at all possible
