Over the past few years, in anticipation of the event, many theatre companies have been mounting produc- tions of the plays, showing them internationally in cinemas and making them available on DVD. As a Cedarburg contribution this series will look at a sam- pling of the plays in live performances as recorded in recent years by the Royal National Theatre, the Royal Shakespeare Company, Shakespeare’s Globe and the Stratford Ontario Festival. Selected scenes will be shown to illustrate the “infinite variety” of interpreta- tions inspired by these richly evocative works. Among the plays included will be Twelfth Night, Antony and Cleopatra, Henry IV, As You Like It, and The Tempest. About a dozen plays will be covered in all, and the final list will be finalized shortly before the course begins to allow for the inclusion of the most recent productions of note. The Cedarburg Senior Center has a fully accessible platform lift at the entrance of the Senior Center. Those in a wheelchair or those unable to walk the steps can use the lift to enter the Senior Center.

“FUN”CTIONAL FITNESS

Certified fitness instructors, Janis Gralewski and Sandie Kass will lead you through a dynamic routine to promote coordination, balance, strength and flexibility. Hand weights, resistance bands and balls are all part of the fun. All levels of ability are wel-come. Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:30 am in the Cedarburg Community Gym thru June 11. $3 per session. PICKLE-BALL Fridays 9:30 am~11:30 am & 2:00 pm~4:00pm Pickleball is one of the fastest growing sports in the country, It is a sport for all ages similar to tennis, but on a court the size of a badminton court. The Cedar-burg Senior Center is offering Pickle Ball indoors at the Community Center Gym. This mini-tennis game is played by 2 or 4 people using wood paddle racquets and a plastic, poly ball with holes. Cost $3 pp per time.

WINTER STORM WARNING

When winter’s bad weather requires the closing of Cedarburg schools, the Cedarburg Senior Center will close and the van service will not operate. Check the closing information on TV channels 4, 6 & 12. The mealsite is managed by the Aging & Disability Resource Center of Ozaukee Co. under a separate guideline. Call 262-238-8120 for mealsite closings.
