4‐2. Japanese Law & Regulation
Facility Subject to the Technical Standards (Ordinance for Enforcement of Port and Harbor Act, Article 19)
< Meet with Technical Standard >
High earthquake‐resistance facility (Ministerial Ordinance for the Technical Standards for Port and Harbor Facilities)
< Cope with Level 2 earthquake ground motions >
Confirmation required facility (Port and Harbor Act, Article 56 and
Ordinance for Enforcement of Port and Harbor Act, Article 28)< Shall obtain the confirmation from of MLIT >
"Level 1 earthquake ground motions" means earthquake ground motions having a high possibility of occurrence, among those expected to occur at places where port facilities subject to the technical standards are installed, judging from the relationship between the recurrence intervals of earthquake ground motions and the design working life of the facilities concerned."Level 2 earthquake ground motions" means earthquake ground motions having an intensity of the maximum scale among those expected to occur at places where the port facilities subject to the technical standards are installed.

4‐3. Seismic Isolator for PORTAINER®
Rubber Bearing
Seismic Isolator by Rubber Bearing
Seismic Isolation for Quayside CranesIn response to the damage caused by the Hanshin-Awaji earthquake, seismicisolating cranes (rubber bearing, rocking motion, double bearing etc.) weredeveloped. Isolator is locked by share pin during normal operation. When anearthquake occurs,. isolator is unlocked which increase the natural period ofthe structure.
