A Tribute to FathersMy father is still living with my sister and

brother - in - law at the age of 86. He’ll be 87 inSeptember. All my life, he has been my hero. Iremember my kids and some of the grandchil-dren having to write essays in school aboutsomeone important in their life, a hero, or amodel figure. I don’t remember ever having to do

that. But if I had, I would havechosen my Daddy. Never calledhim Dad, or Papa, or Pops, or Fa-ther. It was always Daddy andstill is. My kids and grandkidscall him Papaw.

I do catch myself referring tohim as “Papaw” once in awhile. When we recently visited for a

family member’s wedding, I realized this whenboth he and my husband answered to the name.

I believe his greatest attributes are his honestyand willingness to give to others. Both stem fromhis faith in God. He didn’t preach to us or at us.He really wasn’t the disciplinarian of the family. But I learned a great deal from him. I learned byhis example. If only more children today had arole model half what my Daddy is, the worldwould be a better place. I wish I lived closer tohimso I could share some of the great places to go,things to do and people to see in this issue withhim.

Our kids are taking their Dad camping and fish-ing. Combined with his birthday, we can celebratetwo things at once. If you haven’t yet decidedwhat special thing to do for your Dad, browsethrough this issue for some great ideas. Whateveryou do, remember honor him in a special way - ifnothing else, tell him that you “love” him.

Happy Father’s Day!

Jets Over Kentucky Week inLebanon will offer evenmore excitement for 2015.

Jets Over Kentucky drew 164 pi-lots from all over the world lastyear, and this year promises to beeven better. The dates for this yearare July 5-12.

Uninterrupted flying for our pi-lots the entire week. Flying willbegin each day at 8:00am and con-clude at darkness. All flying willbe done from the main runway(5000 ft).

Jet Central has sponsored three"Big Top Tents" (40X200) for ourpilots. Two of the big tents are par-allel to the concrete taxiway, andthe third is in the grass, and paral-lel to the main runway. This BigTop will give pilots a clear view ofall flying. A transport vehicle andtrailer will be located at this tentfor moving aircraft to the flightline. Pilots needing more spacecan rent as many sections as theyneed. If the entire 10X40 is notneeded, each pilot is free to split

the 250.00 cost with anyone will-ing to share. Pilots who rentedspace last year, will have firstpreference for the 10X40 slots. Theremaining 120ft of the"BigTops"will still be available as freepilot space for pre-registered pi-lots, with 2014 attendees havingtheir same place in the tent. Wehave plenty of space for all. Popup tents are also welcome, andwill be placed perpendicular tothe east side Big Top in the grassarea. No pop tents will be allowedon the taxiway or in between theBig Top Tents and the runway.

Vendors Row like last year isperpendicular to the west Big Top(grass area).

We'll have additional pilot spacein the 40X200 tent located in thegrassy area west of the taxiway. 10slots in all big top tents will bepremium rental space, and the re-maining will be free pilot space.Pilots with free space will nothave the entire slot to themselves.Depending on the number of air-

craft, two or three pilots will sharethese accommodations. Pilots inall rental slots may choose to di-vide their slots with friends, or re-main private.

Even more prizes, awards, andsurprises for our pilots this year!
