A Message from Your Interim Pastor

The month of November presents CBC with many challenges and opportunities. In the area of PREACHING, this coming Sunday, November 3, I will be preaching the “one and only” sermon I have preached EACH YEAR since

1968. It is entitled Come Before Winter; the text is 2 Timothy 4:9, 21. It is a message on “the passing of life’s opportunities.”

In the area of BIBLE STUDY, next Sunday will also be HIGH ATTENDANCE DAY with a goal of 450 present. Each member has been encouraged to “find your ONE” to invite/bring with you. We CAN reach the goal if each of us does his/her part!

Remember, CBC is in “the PEOPLE business”; we want to reach for Christ and His church individual persons! This is just one step in that direction.

In the area of CHRISTIAN STEWARDSHIP, we will have presented to us on November 10 a copy of our Church Budget for 2020; it will be discussed on Wednesday, November 13, and adopted on the morning of November 17. On that day, I am planning to bring a sermon on “A Biblical Plan of Church Finance” from 1 Corinthians 16:1-2. Use this month to review and evaluate your personal level of giving financially to CBC.

Appropriately for this month and the special season of the year, our church will be hosting on the evening of November 24 our COMMUNITY THANKSGIVING SERVICE. Circle that date and plan to attend that night for a time of reflecting on the blessings of God to each of us.

I look forward to seeing you, 450-plus strong this Sunday, with a Bible in my hand and a sermon in my heart!
