    A few days ago, the Independence staff and students had the opportunity

    to provide a special celebration and breakfast for many of our wonderful

    volunteers that have served us so well throughout the year. We

    appreciated the chance to say, Thank you to those that have given of

    their time, talents, and efforts to help the children in our school.

    We know that not everyone was able to attend the celebration. owever,

    we want you to know that we appreciate all that our volunteers have done

    for us throughout the year. !rom !ield "ay, to #.$.%.&.#. "ay, to helping

    out in the classrooms, and the many different roles that you play, you

    make a difference. Without the support of our parents and family

    members, we would not be the school that we are.

    The staff at Independence 'lementary wishes all of

    our students and families a safe and happy summer.

    As we reach the end of the school year, it seems like a fitting time to shareall of the great things that parents at Independence Elementary have supportedbecause of the successful Fun Run Fundraising Event.

    As !" members, we strive to assure that these funds are spread out

    throughout the school in various ways, and in addition to supporting regulare#penses, we volunteer to assist teachers with their classroom needs as well. !hisyear, parents, via the Fun Run contributions, have purchased$ chick incubators,various technological re%uests such as ipads, math and science apps, codingrobots, science launchers, ink for classroom print &obs, and a green screen.

    Additionally, books, field trips, easels, reading and writing center supplies, furniture,plants, and class demonstrations like '(unters of the )ky* and '+int ature -enter)tar /ab* is appreciated throughout the year by students and those teaching themat IE.

    Listed below are qualifications to become a Bus Driver for Clarkston schools, all drivers are hired as call

    in drivers, working their way up the seniority list to obtain an assigned Bus Route. We do provide a

    training program, you must first go to the Michigan Secretary of State office and obtain a Temporary

    Operator Permit, and a Temporary Instructional Permit with the endorsements listed below. We do not

    pay while training and we will notify you if during training you are not qualified for School Bus Driving.Once you have passed the CDL road test and all the qualifications, you will be hired on with a 90 work

    day probation period. Medical benefits and paid holidays are not provided to call in bus drivers, only

    drivers with assigned bus routes with 5 hours will receive benefits per contract. If I can answer anyadditional questions please give me a call at 248-623- 8040.

    Must have a CDL (Commercial Drivers License) with Group B, P, S, and Air Brake Endorsements.

    Must meet all State and local certification and licensing requirements.

    Must not have any felonies or criminal background history.

    Must meet all DOT physical requirements.

    Must meet drug and alcohol testing.

    Acceptable driving record. (Two Points or less with no prior convictions of impaired driving of DUI)

    Must have a minimum of 6 years driving experience.

    A training program is provided for candidates who do not meet license requirements listed above.

    Working Conditions:

    $13.10 per hourHours vary between ( 6AM 9AM) (2PM-5PM)
