Hungry Eye Trivia “Back to School”
1. The earliest pencil erasers were made from...
2. What inspired the invention of the glue stick?
3. How much did the first box of Crayola crayons cost?
1. Bread! The modern rubber eraser was invented in the late 1770s.
2. Lipstick. A company called Henkel (now Pritt) invented glue sticks in 1969 because they were inspired by the ease of twisting up lipstick.
3. The first box of Crayola crayons sold in 1903 for five cents. It contained the same eight colours that are in a box today.
