The GPC Industry Affiliate Program About the GPC Industry Affiliate Program The Global Projects Center’s Industry Affiliate Program creates value for organizations engaged in institutional investment, the financing of innovation, and the financing, development, building, and operation of long-term projects, such as infrastructure, and other capital assets. GPC does this through research, education, networking, outreach and mentorship. Our community exists because we believe that the global finance and investment industry is poorly aligned to the interests of organizations developing long-term, innovative projects. For example, in order to meet future needs for critical infrastructure and to support the global economy, we need to improve the way we invest and facilitate new sources of capital for infrastructure assets. Similarly, we want to develop and nurture more aligned sources of capital for the funding of innovation. Our community is a collection of thought leaders to guide research in that endeavor. Our industry affiliates join a community of academic and industry partners driving the premier research agenda for institutional investment, finance, project governance, and management. We use our affiliates to keep our research relevant and drive our research agenda to the forefront of academic and industry. There are many specific benefits to being a part of our community. Our Mission The financial, political, and institutional systems used to develop and maintain the strategic assets that underpin our economy are plagued by short- termism and conflicts of interest. We strive to re-root finance in the real economy and re-align incentives to marry long-term capital with long- term assets. We research ways to improve the way we invest in our economy. GPC Visiting Scholar Program Our affiliates of a certain level may also participate in our Visiting Scholar Program. Under the program, thought leaders from our affiliate organizations join the GPC for one or more academic quarters to work with our faculty on a specific publication or research project of interest. The Visiting Scholar program is an opportunity for thought leaders in industry to work directly with the GPC and to be embedded in our research program. Global Research Assistant Program Our affiliates of a certain level represent global organizations and work on projects around the world, and the best research on our industry often requires “boots on the ground.” Under our Global Research Assistant Program, a member of our research team will travel to and work with one of our affiliates for one or more academic quarters while working on a related publication. Our Global RA program is an opportunity for members of our research team to be embedded with our affiliates. Our Students and Faculty We work with the brightest graduate students at Stanford University. A core part of our mission at the GPC is helping our students find the best possible career opportunities, and we recognize that many the best opportunities in our industry are careers with our affiliates. We work with our affiliates to facilitate intern and full time recruiting at Stanford University.

Faculty LiaisonFor our affiliates at the highest level that elect to participate in the faculty liaison program, one of our core faculty will be selected to act as a liaison to our research community, staff and students. We work with our affiliates to designate an appropriate faculty member based on their individual requirements. Our faculty mentors are responsible for keeping their affiliates up to date on the latest research and developments in a given sector. The faculty liaison program includes annual visits to participating affiliates for topical presentations or a review of recent findings.
Symposia and Topical RoundtablesEvery year, the GPC hosts a research symposium with our entire Industry Affiliate community and multiple topical roundtables for groups of our affiliates.
