Branding The basis of all good branding is good information. The better information, the better the brand.

The Global Group has grown to a size that we can now begin

developing our own brands to better suit market conditions by

offering exclusivity of our products.

In 2010 the Saporini and Stellani furniture brands were born,

drawing on over thirty years of experience. The brands are

exclusive for Global Groups members and partners of the

group’s choice.

Style research is an ongoing exercise to interpret contemporary

lifestyles. Designs and concepts are studied and transformed to

meet requirements of the group’s stylistic endeavours.

Merlino Furniture’s story is a triumph of artisan endeavour, striking a harmonious balance between tradition and innovation.

R & L Merlino started off as a small family business in 1980 with

the selling of Marcel Bruer Chairs in the Perth marketplace. In 18

months the business had progressed to the purchase of their first

warehouse, the employment of staff and the expansion of the

furniture range imported from Italy. With this plan in action Ross

Merlino was able to expand his clientele Australia wide.

Over the next few years the company had excelled in growth

throughout Australia. Ross could see that to be able to become

a strategic furniture supplier you need to have a base on the East

coast.

In 1989 Merlino Furniture NSW was born with his brother Aldo

Merlino moving to Sydney.

During this period Mr Ross Merlino formed a buying group known

as The “Global Group of Companies”. This group consisted of

Artemis Imports (Queensland), Merlino Furniture Imports Pty

Limited (Sydney), Collage (New Zealand) and Merlino Furniture

(Perth - Head Office). With the Group formed, they were able

to buy competitively, have a larger database to source new

products and in turn dominate the Australasian market.

With continuing success, Merlino Furniture Perth, relocated in 1999

to a specialized warehouse and showroom (66000sq feet) and is

a major player in the Perth wholesale market. The Global Group

of Companies is now importing over 2000 containers per year,

from countries all around the world.

We carry exclusive product lines with sophistication and reverence for form and functionality.

Merlino International has grown from within Merlino Furniture to

service International clients with operations as widespread as

the United Kingdom through to Ireland, Canada, Singapore,

Malaysia, Slovenia and are in negotiations with other markets at

present.

We act as an agent for many of the group’s suppliers so our

International customers can share the benefits of a large buying

group. This in turn provides the group with even more product

volume giving members further power to negotiate better pricing

and product exclusivity.

All orders use the same quality assurance infrastructure setup by

the Global group, not only does this ensure high standards of

product, it provides ground support to assist with warranties and

consolidation of products from different suppliers.

around the globe and is a New Zealand focal point for European

designed furniture. We import more than 200 containers per

annum of personally selected product and distribute to a wide

range of retailers, specifiers and decorators throughout New

Established in 1953, and rebranded in the 90’s, Collage consists

of a large high-profile retail and interior design store; and an

extensive import and wholesale operation. Based in an iconic

60,000 sq foot Auckland building, Collage also provides a 15,000

sq foot trade showroom (the largest of its kind in New Zealand)

designed for the efficient flow of containers, devanning, storage

The Global Group of Companies production is boundless.

We have production sites in Europe and Asia, with suppliers of

notability for their choice of fine materials, innovative designs

and competitive pricing.

In order to ensure a high level of product quality for our

members, we work closely with all of our suppliers. We only

distribute quality products that have been comprehensively

inspected by our own quality control team.

The service we provide ensures all furniture is meticulously

refined and packaged correctly. Every single item is personally

inspected by a member of our team and must adhere to a

stringent set of quality control guidelines.

Global Export Service Ltd is based in China, Dongguan. They

have ten staff; the team are continually following up orders,

shipments and most importantly providing strict quality control

for the group.
