We are once again looking forward to opening our beautiful Glenwood skating rink 7days a week! Lace up your skates for a leisurely skate or bring your hockey gear and
join in for some shinny hockey! Make sure you bring your skate tags. Our rinkattendant will be running a concession if you need a quick energy boost. COST =FREE with membership, $2 per skate/person or $10 Skate Pass (for the season)

Glendale School 9812 161 Street
Glendale School has been educating the students of the Glenwood community for 60 years.
As a school we are committed to working with students and parents to provide the best educationpossible for all students. Glendale School offers full day Kindergarten and regular elementary
programming for Grades 1 - 6. We are also a district site for students who come to us from the westend of the city for Opportunity programming in Grades 4 - 6. Student learning is enhanced through thuse of SmartBoards in each classroom as well as each student from Grades 2 to 6 having full timeaccess to a laptop computer in his or her classroom.
Glendale School has also recently become a Leader In Me school which me ans we are working tobring out the best in all students through leadership and accountability. We are also an AppleSchool which to allows us to focus on improving student nutrition and active living. These twoprograms are helping us make students well rounded learners and contributing members of the schoand community.

Coats for Kids & Families
This program helps keep Edmontonians warm throughout the winter. The 2012 Coats for Kidscampaign will run from Oct 23, 2012 to Dec 6, 2012.
To Get a Coat: If you or your family is in need of winter coats, call 211 (or 482-INFO outside ofEdmonton). They will tell you where to find the closest depot. All coats have been professionally drycleaned by Page the Cleaner.To Become a Depot: Contact Jenn Dermott through email [email protected] or phone at
780-443-8396.To Donate a Coat: Drop off gently used coats at one of our Drop-Off locations. The JP Site (10030-167 St.) and PACS (11410-149 St.) have collection boxes.Other Ways to Help: Monetary donations are used to purchase coats to meet specific requests.Cheques can be made out to United Way of the Alberta Capital Region and write Coats for Kids &Families in the memo line. Cheques can be mailed or dropped off at 15132 Stony Plain Road,
Edmonton, AB T5P 3Y3.
You can also volunteer to sort and package coats so that they can be delivered to distribution centreContact Sophia Birchall at 780.443.8393 [email protected]
Community support is crucial for a successful program. We encourage groups of co-workers,
community organizations, church groups and friends to organize collection drives to collect as many
coats and outerwear items as possible. When your Coats for Kids and Families collection drive is
complete, donations can be dropped off at any Page the Cleaner.
