Dear Brothers, In spite of the weather condition, the Summer Fellow-

ship was a blast. Amazingly enough almost all of the desig-nated service was completed; so thank you to all of the hard-working Arrowmen. I personally want to thank the 2004-2005 Lodge officers for successfully shaping Echockotee into a hard working dedicated group that aspires to grow closer to its fullest potential. As a Lodge officer last year I had the privi-lege of working with our chapter chiefs and committee chair-men. And in doing so I saw the Lodge for what it truly is. You see the members of the chapters and the committees are the Lodge. You decide whether the Lodge grows or not. So speaking from experience, I can say that the Lodge not only grew, it took a huge leap towards success. But the trail to the top is not over. This year the newly elected officers plan to expand and augment the ideas implemented last year. More importantly we want the Lodge to continue to grow, to con-tinue to leap toward success because the sky is the limit.

I wish to extend heartfelt thanks to the ceremonialists for providing the Lodge with phenomenal ceremonies at the fellowship. And congratulations to all of the newly inducted Ordeal and Brotherhood members. I hope that all of you re-ceived the well deserved experience offered at this past fel-lowship. I know I did. I enjoyed the activities; I enjoyed watching the Arrowmen having a blast with battle sock, and sticking life savors on each others face. But most of all I en-joyed watching the brothers of the Echockotee Lodge fellow-ship with each other, cheerfully serving and fulfilling your ob-ligation as Arrowmen.

ECHOCKOTEE LODGE 200 WWW NATIONAL ORDER OF THE ARROW CONFERENCE 2006

“THIS TIME, IT’S TOO BIG FOR JUST ONE COUNTRY” Welcome! The brothers of Echockotee Lodge 200 are beginning to plan the biannual trip to the 2006 National Order of the Arrow Conference, also known as NOAC, and now is the time to reserve your place on this trip. What is NOAC? The National Order of the Arrow Conference is the biannual gathering of Arrowmen from all of the lodges in the country, as well as our brothers in lodges overseas. This event usually attracts over 9,000 participants, taking place on the campus of a major university. Everyone stays in dormitories, and meals are served through the dining facilities on campus. In 2006, NOAC will be held on the campus of Michigan State University, located in East Lansing, Michigan. The conference itself will run from July 29 to August 3. The main purpose of the Conference is training, and some of the best training in topics dealing with the Order, Scouting, camping, high adventure, and native American cultures will be available. Learn about ceremonies, inductions, camping promotions, lodge and chapter administration, leader-ship development, adviser skills, OA national programs, troop relations, and event planning. Pick up

Finally, I want to thank you for the vote of confidence you extended to me on Sunday afternoon when you selected me as your Chief for 2005-2006. As you may know I take this role seriously and my strongest desire is to serve you effec-tively. I thoroughly look forward to working along side each of you as we continue the process of building a legacy

Yours in WWW,

NOAC, cont. knowledge about individual and group native American dance, clothing, and tribal histories from na-tional and regional experts in these fields. Whatever your interests in the OA may be, you will learn more bout them at NOAC. Along with the training are inter-lodge and individual competitions, nightly arena shows, histori-cal displays of OA and BSA artifacts and memorabilia from all across the country, the “Founders’ Day Fair” displays, giving lodges an opportunity to show off their home areas, and patch trading. While this event usually occurs every two years, this will be the last NOAC until 2009, as a year will be skipped, to bring the event in line for the 100th anniversary celebration in 2015. So this will be your last chance for three years to attend the BSA’s second biggest event. And this year, Echockotee will limit the number of its attendees to 100. What do you mean, “THIS TIME, IT’S TOO BIG FOR JUST ONE COUNTRY?” As long as Echockotee is traveling all the way up to Michigan, the organizing committee has de-signed an itinerary that will take the contingent into Canada, offering a unique opportunity for the Arrowmen of North Florida Council to take a side trip into our neighbors to the north. Plans are still being put together, but as of now, we will leave via motor coach from north Florida for a straight trip to the MSU campus, arriving July 29. After the fun-filled days and nights of NOAC, we will depart August 3 to travel from Michigan to the Niagara Falls area, to see one of the most awesome natural wonders in North America. We will spend the night in the area, with an eye to stay on the Canadian side. The next morning, we’ll depart for the southwestern corner of Pennsyl-vania, for an afternoon of white-water rafting in the Class III and IV rapids of the Youghiogheny River. That night, our last night before returning home, we hope to have a banquet that will celebrate what we have accomplished as a group and individuals, with an eye on how we can improve the lodge and Scouting upon our return on August 5. Please keep in mind that these are the plans at this point, and may be subject to change, based on cost, availability, and the number of attendees. What will all of this cost? And what does it cover? We are still trying to get everything nailed down, and there may be some fluctuations with the volatility of fuel prices. But the NOAC Committee is committed to keeping the cost below $800 per person. This will cover the registration fees, transportation, lodging, side trips, meals along the way, and one of each lodge contingent item made. There will be programs in place to raise funds that will help pay for the registration fees of youth members attending NOAC. Payments can be made through the Service Center, or at the lodge Fellowships, and credit cards are accepted for payment. How can I go? First, we need you to complete a sign-up form. This will give us your name and contact informa-

NOAC, cont. tion, and allow us to determine how you can help on this trip, as there are many tasks and responsi-bilities to be shared. Once completed, you will be on our mailing list. Next, be sure that payments are being made. At least $100 must be paid as a deposit by Novem-ber 1st, so that the lodge can secure all of the desired slots for attendance. Payments should be in full by May 2006. As an adult, you are limited to the number of youth attending, because National has a quota of 2 youth to one adult. So do your best to recruit youth for this adventure, to secure your own slot in the contingent. How can I help send someone to NOAC? We have a plan for fundraising, to help offset the cost of youth registration fees for attending NOAC. Any donations will be used for that purpose. We have designed a special patch that will recognize those that make a donation of $30 of either money, or patches that are later sold in auction that raises $30 or more. Any patches or other items that are donated will be auctioned off, either at the Winter 2006 Fellowship, or on eBay this fall, depending on which would raise the most money. And this special “sponsor” recognition will be given for each $30 increment (example: donate patches that raise $300 in auction, you would qualify for ten “sponsor” patches). Please contact the chairman or the adviser for more details. We hope to see you with us! Brothers, For those who miss it the Summer Fellowship was AMAZING. From the registration to the lodge business meeting, it again was another action packed event. We had on Saturday morning cheerful service, in which, we set up the tents for summer camp and finished them, that in itself is an accomplishment. Later, we inducted the Brotherhood and Ordeal candi-dates in well performed ceremonies. And soon after we had a delectable feast and concluded the night with ice cream, spirit-filled activities, and a Pow-Wow. On Sunday morning we had chapter elections and the lodge business meeting. At the lodge meeting Elemukulek won the Spirit Award as well as Best All-around Chapter. Also, Elemukulek, Osceola, and Oglala all got Quality Chapter Award. In the lodge business meeting we in addition had lodge elec-tions, the new officers are Nick Leonard as Chapter Chief, Vice Chief of Program Corey Troxell, Vice Chief of Training Joe Grinnan, Michael Willis as Secretary, George Birmbaum as Treasurer, and Historian Orlando Pryor. But, the previous lodge leadership group led by James Poindexter pointed us in the right direction and has left big shoes to fill. After the elections the new officers in a lodge ritual was thrown into Lake Osborne which was a high-light of the weekend. The next fellowship will be even better, come and bring your spirit with you.

Ceremonies were awesome at the summer fellowship! I would like to thank everyone who helped out, from Echockotee’s ceremonialists to everyone who helped out behind the scenes. None of what we did could have been pulled off without their help. I would like to extend a great deal of thanks to Oglala Chapter for their outstanding continued service build-ing the council fire for all of our ceremonies and to the Oklawaha Chapter for their out-standing ceremonialists in the Pre-Ordeal and Ordeal ceremonies. The Ceremonies Commit-tee is always looking for more arrowmen to join, whether you want to be a ceremonialist, or help out with setting up the Ceremonies ring, we could always use an extra hand. We look forward to competing at Section Conference 2006, as our committee continues to grow and have more talent. If you are interested in joining the committee or becoming a ceremonialist in our ceremonies, please contact myself, Quentin Lesser, at (904) 744-8756, or Thomas Morrow, at (904) 292-2443.
