THE FACE OF DIGITAL LEADERSHIP Why did you want to join TM Forum’s board? TM Forum is one of the key forums enabling digital transformaon in our industry; I joined to ensure that Oracle can contribute to driving this industry-wide transformaon for our global customers. How does your vision for digital leadership align with TM Forum? TM Forum and Oracle share the objecve of seeing our industry transform, grow and thrive in this age of digital transformaon. We can do this through defining an ecosystem of stakeholders who adopt common APIs and other standards to enable service agility and flexibility, driving profitability and outstanding customer experience in member organizaons. I would like to see TM Forum connue to drive a collaborave environment to achieve full digital transformaon for service providers. Describe your typical day. I start my day bright and early with a workout. My global responsibilies take me to the ends of the earth, spling my me between customer and partner interacons, internal operaons and me with my team, and other external meengs. I place a high priority on family life which rounds out my day. I aended the US Naval Academy (BS, Engineering) and the US Naval Postgraduate School (MS, Informaon Technology) while serving 10 years as an officer in the US Marine Corps. That experience shaped me for my career in IT/Communicaons. What do you consider your biggest professional achievement? Throughout my career – from my days at Dynamicsoſt to Tekelec to Oracle – my biggest professional achievements have been around championing our customers and helping them to make milestone technology transions. What big idea are you working on now? My team and I are working to apply Oracle’s massive investment in cloud- nave technologies to the 5G core so that our customers can enjoy the flexibility and economies of web-scale in the next network transformaon. What’s the low and high points in your career? The incredibly talented and passionate teams I have had the privilege of leading through the peaks and valleys of this industry have brought great joy and high points too numerous to menon. At the same me, each of those technology transions have also come with risk and unfortunately sleepless nights. Which worthy cause do you support? Bringing clean water and healthcare to the people of Africa.
