VCSF Announces the Big Idea Competition

The Voorheesville Community and School Foundation has been involved in many impactful projects these last few years. We helped build a bridge on the rail trail, fly an Icarus to the edge of the atmosphere, erect community pavilions, and construct a playground.

Each of these projects had one common element - community members who had an idea and the drive to bring their projects to life.

VCSF knows the next Big Idea for our community is right around the corner, just waiting to shine. The Foundation’s Big Idea Competition seeks projects that will have meaningful and wide-scale impact and serve VCSF’s mission to enhance the educational, cultural, athletic and organizational opportunities of the students and communities primarily of the Voorheesville Central School District.

So dream BIG, think BIG & plan BIG and submit an application for your BIG idea!

How it works…1. Think of a Big Idea!

2. Go to the VCSF website, vcsfoundation.com, for an application and follow a few rules- There are two applications available, one for projects requesting up to $1000

and one for projects requesting greater than $1000 in funding.- If your Big Idea will be used at a Voorheesville School, be sure to talk to a

teacher or administrator for assistance in submitting your application.- Big Idea awards cannot be given to individuals, or to for-profit businesses.

3. Submit your Big Idea proposal - Big Idea applications will be accepted between Tuesday, September 3 and

Tuesday October 1. Competition finalists will be notified in early November.- Finalists will present their Big Ideas to the community on Sunday, November

17th.

- Winners will be notified by Monday December 2, 2019, and funding will begin in January
