REJECTION OF THE EVERLASTING GOSPEL: WELCOME GOD’S WRATH

REVELATION 14:9, 1OAnd the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive [his] mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

GOD’S WRATH: WINE IN A CUP?

MATTHEW 26:38, 39, 42, 44Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me. And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou [wilt]. He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done. And he left them, and went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words.

WHO GAVE JESUS THIS CUP?HEBREWS 5:7

Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;...

LUKE 22:42, 44Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done. And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

JOHN 18:11Then said Jesus unto Peter, Put up thy sword into the sheath: the cup which my Father hath given me, shall I not drink it?

JESUS: OBEDIENT UNTO HIS FATHER

JOHN 8:29And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.

PSALMS 22:1, 2My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? [why art thou so] far from helping me, [and from] the words of my roaring? O my God, I cry in the daytime, but thou hearest not; and in the night season, and am not silent.

MY, GOD, MY GOD,…A PROPHETIC FULFILLMENT

ROMANS 8:32He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

GALATIANS 3:13Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed [is] every one that hangeth on a tree:

WAIT A MINUTE: THAT’S NOT FAIR!• IF JESUS HAD NOT REJECTED HIS FATHER’S GOSPEL MESSAGE, THEN WHY SHOULD HE BE

MADE TO DRINK THE CUP (WRATH OF GOD) WHICH A DISOBEDIENT PERSON SHOULD HAVE

DRUNK?

• DID JESUS EVER SINNED? • THEN WHY WOULD HE HAVE TO SUFFER THE

CURSE FOR SINNERS?

2 CORINTHIANS 5:21For he hath made him [to be] sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

THE EVERLASTING GOSPEL: MESSAGE OF FORGIVENESS

ISAIAH 53:4-6Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he [was] wounded for our transgressions, [he was] bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace [was] upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

ROMANS 6:23For the wages of sin [is] death; but the gift of God [is] eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

WHAT IS FORGIVENESS?

JOHN 3:16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

1 JOHN 2:2And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for [the sins of] the whole world.

REJECTION OF THE EVERLASTING GOSPEL: SACRIFICIAL DEATH

EZEKIEL 39:17-19And, thou son of man, thus saith the Lord GOD; Speak unto every feathered fowl, and to every beast of the field, Assemble yourselves, and come; gather yourselves on every side to my sacrifice that I do sacrifice for you, [even] a great sacrifice upon the mountains of Israel, that ye may eat flesh, and drink blood. Ye shall eat the flesh of the mighty, and drink the blood of the princes of the earth, of rams, of lambs, and of goats, of bullocks, all of them fatlings of Bashan. And ye shall eat fat till ye be full, and drink blood till ye be drunken, of my sacrifice which I have sacrificed for you.

1 PETER 1:18-20

Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, [as] silver and gold, from your vain conversation [received] by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,...
