What is environmental pollution?Environmental pollution is the contamination of air, water and land from man-made waste. Pollution leads to depletion of the ozone layer, global warming and climate change.

Characteristics

Contaminants include herbicides and pesticides. Toxic waste are often in chemical form, these pollute the natural environment, and contaminate groundwater.

Where it happens?

Botanical Garden of Barranquilla Also known as “Arroyo de La Victoria” is located in “La Victoria”, in the southeastern part of the city.

The Botanical Garden of Barranquilla?

• Is a communal green and recreational area for public use

• Approximate area of 7 hectares of great ecological importance.

Why is it a problem?

It is a problem because this big area is not as cleaned as it is suppose to be.

Also because many vandal groups take this place as a refuge for smoking and doing drugs.

Another problem is that many waste from materials are laid here.

Why does it happen?

Government and political issues are not paying any attention to the problem.

The projects that have been planned, were not carried out. They just remained in papers.

Consequences it brings to the environment

• The loss of environmental services offered by this site as lung oxygen generation.

General Objective

• The conservation and protection of flora and fauna associated with tropical dry forest ecosystem and the groundwater reservoir, which feels natural.

Specific Objective

• To maintain a park as much clean as it is possible.

• To plant trees.

• to raise people’s awareness about the damage of this park.

• The trees we are thinking of planting are these: almond , pizquín y majagua, another ons are: mango y Ceiba, matarraton, totumo y flor amarilla.
