SGA Peanut Butter DriveThe peanut butter collection for Haiti was lead by the VHS SGA. Peanut butter is a good source of protein and has a good shelf life, allowing for a great benefit for Haitian children and workers. If they are lucky, they usually receive one meal a day, and this meal consist of rice and beans. Mr. Harry Hames of Decatur, AL makes numerous trips to the country every year. In fact, the children in the orphanage are known as Harry’s Kids. He visits Haiti for a variety of purposes; one being to make sure items and supplies are distributed to the correct individuals.
