Remove turkey from the refrigerator two hours before roasting. Preheat the oven to 450°F. Mix butter and spices in a food processor until smooth. Add salt and pepper. Bring four cups of chicken stock and wine to a boil in a medium saucepan; reduce to low heat. Season the turkey’s interior with salt and pepper and fill with half of the carrots, celery, and onions. Rub the turkey with herb butter and season generously with salt and pepper. Add remaining vegetables to the pan, and top with turkey fitted on a roasting rack. Pour 2 cups of chicken stock into the roasting pan and put the pan in the oven. Roast until the turkey is light golden brown (about 40 minutes). Reduce the oven temperature to 350°F and continue roasting, basting every 15 minutes. Check turkey until an instant-read thermometer inserted in the thigh registers 160°F. Remove turkey from the oven, tent with foil and let rest 25 minutes before carving. Strain stock into a medium saucepan, discard solids, and boil the stock until reduced. “I remember seeing this space six months ago when it was a crummy garage, and now it’s like the Palais Royal!” said designer and show-goer Alexander Wang of the Versace for H&M Hall on the Hudson, which the two brands created on NYC’s waterfront to stage a show and star-studded party to kick off their collaboration. Between the oodles of celebs, the coterie of top models, the hundreds of photographers, and the very open bar, it was the kind of quintessentially Versace moment that Donatella is known for. After the final runway exit, Nicki Minaj took to the stage for a raucous set—and when she was finished? None other than Prince performed a few of his greatest hits. Will the fashion set ever recover?

GOT VEINS?Get the Scoop!

Tell us about the center.Through the vision of Mark Adelman, MD, Chief of Vascular Surgery and Lowell Kabnick, MD, Director of NYU Vein Center, the need, development and establishment of the first University Vein Center in New York occurred at NYU in 2007. This center was developed with the patient in mind as a complete Vein Center, with expertise in all areas of venous diagnosis and treatment. Why me?Heredity is the number one contributing factor causing varicose and spider veins. Women are more likely to suffer from these abnormal leg veins. More than 50 million Americans suffer from some form of venous disorder. Hormonal factors including puberty, pregnancy, menopause, the use of birth control pills, estrogen, and progesterone can affect the disease process. Other factors that can accelerate and aggravate the appearance of veins beyond gravity and age, include pregnancy, leg injury, obesity, lack of exercise, weight fluctuation, constriction, and long periods of sitting or standing.
